What a year, let's celebrate!
Some of you may have heard Charles before. He sometimes practices his saxophone in the sanctuary, and today he came in to share his music with our preschool friends. Charles performed a few Disney songs for us on his saxophone, and what a special treat it was! 🎷✨
The children were so engaged and loved listening to the familiar songs. We are so thankful to have opportunities like this where children can experience music, creativity, and community in such meaningful ways. Thank you, Charles, for sharing your talent with us!

THROWBACK THURSDAY
🦋 to one of our favourite moments — butterfly hatching season! 🐛➡️🦋
This little superstar took it upon herself to give our butterflies-in-training a little extra encouragement by reading them a book about the life cycle of a butterfly. Because sometimes you just need a good pep talk to remember how to butterfly!
We're pretty sure those chrysalises were taking notes. She cheered them on every step of the way — from egg to caterpillar to cocoon — reminding them exactly what they were working toward. What a wonderful little motivational speaker!
We love how kids just naturally know how to show up with their whole hearts. Those butterflies were lucky to have such a caring friend rooting for them! 🌸✨

To wrap up our favourite books celebration, here's a peek at some of the other amazing activities our little ones have been exploring this week!
🐷 The Three Little Pigs — Our little builders got to work constructing their very own structures. Would the Big Bad Wolf blow them down?! The engineering and problem solving happening here was incredible!
🚧 Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site — Time to dig! Our little construction crew got their hands busy exploring and digging, just like their favourite hardworking trucks.
🎨 Dot! Scribble! Go! & Stanley's Paint Box — These two colourful books inspired some beautiful dot art creations. Every child is an artist, and this week they proved it!
From stone soup to oobleck, buttons to buildings, fishing to painting — this week reminded us just how magical it is when books come to life through play. 🤩✨
☀️📚 Summer is for books! Get your reading lists ready for summer break, because books are ALWAYS more fun with a little hands-on magic! 😄❤️
🍉Today's favourite book is The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli --- and oh, did we have some MESSY fun bringing it to life!
We made Watermelon Oobleck — pink and green with little black seeds and all — and the children absolutely LOVED it! Squishing, scooping, and exploring this wonderful sensory material is not only hilarious fun, it's also amazing for strengthening those little hands and fingers. And if you look closely at the photos… do you see all that beautiful collaboration happening? Watching children work, share, and discover together is what it's all about!
💡 Want to try it at home? It's easier than you think!
🍉 WATERMELON OOBLECK RECIPE
✅ 2 cups cornstarch
✅ 1 cup water
✅ Pink and green food colouring
✅ Black beans or black pom poms for "seeds"
Mix the cornstarch and water together, add your colours, toss in the seeds, and you're ready to play! Add everyday items like spoons, scoops, bowls, and cups to keep the exploration going.
⚠️ Fair warning… it IS messy. Like, really messy. But trust us — it is oh so worth it! 😄

To go along with this classic, our little ones have been playing the Let's Go Fishing game! 🐟✨ It's been a fantastic way to practice colour sorting and fine motor skills, and maybe the most important skill of all… a little bit of patience!

Our next favourite book is here...Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons!
Just like Pete, our little ones have been getting GROOVY with buttons this week! From sorting by colour and size to threading them onto pipe cleaners for some awesome fine motor practice, the learning happening in our centres is just so cool!
We love how a great book can spark so much creativity and exploration. When children can touch, play, and experience a story, it truly comes alive...and that's what makes learning so much fun!

We released 3 butterflies today! 🦋 They were a little hesitant at first but eventually spread their wings and took off — the kids absolutely loved watching them fly away.
We'll release the rest tomorrow. Happy journey, little ones!
