🌿 Happy Retirement, Mrs. Millard! 🌿

After 34 dedicated years of teaching, our very own Mrs. Millard is beginning a well-earned retirement in a few short days. Throughout her career, she has made a lasting impact on hundreds of students, inspiring curiosity, fostering a love of nature, and creating meaningful learning experiences that will be remembered for years to come.

Mrs. Millard’s kindness, wisdom, and passion for education have helped shape our school community in countless ways. While we will certainly miss seeing her in the halls and at all those cross-country races, we are excited for her as she begins this new chapter—one filled with more time for gardening, family, and all the joys retirement has to offer.

🧠✨ Human Systems Projects ✨🫀

5M students explored how the amazing human body works by building and presenting system models.

From lungs taking in oxygen to the heart pumping blood and the stomach breaking down food, students demonstrated how each system plays a unique and important role in keeping the human body functioning.

So much creativity, curiosity, and science thinking in action! 👏

🎢 Grade 5 STEM was all about engineering in action!

Students designed and built marble runs while exploring how potential energy, kinetic energy, and friction affect motion. Through testing and redesigning, they discovered how small changes can make a big difference in how their marbles move from start to finish.

A hands-on mix of science, creativity, and problem-solving! 🧠⚙️

🌍 6M brought ecosystems to life through creative dioramas!

Students designed 3D models to show how biotic and abiotic elements interact within different environments. Hands-on learning, creativity, and science skills all on display! 🌱🐾

4M has been busy! 🦊🔬🌿

First, students put animal adaptations to the test through hands-on experiments, exploring how animals survive and thrive in their environments. Curiosity, teamwork, and scientific thinking were on full display!

Then it was off to the coulee for an outdoor adventure. On a hot day, students traded screens for sunshine, exploration, laughter, and fresh air. Nature for the win! ☀️🍃

Our Tabs for Tots collecting challenge is almost wrapped up—so get those tabs in while you still can!

Mrs. Deakin will be rolling through this Friday, June 19th to weigh the collections and crown the winning class. May the best (and heaviest) tab stack win! 🏆

But the real winners? 💛 Regional hospitals across Alberta, where these tabs help support pediatric medical equipment and care for children in need.

🐥 Grade 3 has been buzzing with excitement! Students watched baby chicks hatch and learned about life cycles through this unforgettable hands-on experience. We think it's safe to say these fluffy friends hatched their way into our hearts! 💛
