Building Skills, Building Futures
While many schools are winding down for the summer, the PEACE Pens & Beyond Business is still going strong!
Today, we celebrate one of our talented and hardworking students who recently completed an order of 150 customized wooden spoons.
From start to finish, he took on the challenge with determination, attention to detail, and pride in his work. He had a goal, a plan, and the perseverance to see it through.
With this major order now complete, he’s already looking ahead and turning his focus to creating inventory for the fall season.
Experiences like this are about so much more than the finished product. They build confidence, problem-solving skills, responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset that will serve students well long after they leave our classrooms.
At St. Albert Learning Centre, we’re proud to provide opportunities for students to discover their strengths, develop workplace skills, and experience the satisfaction that comes from turning hard work into success.
Entrepreneurship at its best. One project, one skill, and one success story at a time. 🌟🪵🔨

🌞 Blessings, Gratitude, and New Beginnings
As we wrapped up the school year on Friday for our adult learners in the Get SET program , the students took time to reflect on a simple but powerful question:
“What makes you smile and feel good?”
Together, they created a beautiful “Blessings to Be Grateful For” board filled with the things that bring joy, comfort, and meaning to their lives.
Their responses reminded us that happiness is often found in the simple things: family, friends, kindness, hugs, music, sunshine, nature hikes, pets, learning, good neighbours, coffee, laughter, health, and even a little cleaning and gardening!
These reflections are a wonderful reminder that education is about more than academics. It’s about building confidence, finding purpose, appreciating life’s blessings, and supporting one another along the journey.
As our adult learners head into the summer, we wish them a season filled with rest, joy, continued growth, and many reasons to smile.
Thank you to our dedicated students and staff for another incredible year. We are so proud of all you have accomplished!
☀️ Have a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer!

4th Annual Heritage Language Classes Year-End Celebration 🇮🇹
Yesterday, we gathered at the Caruso Club for our 4th Annual Heritage Language Classes Year-End Celebration, recognizing the hard work and dedication of our Italian language students and families.
A big thank you to our parents, grandparents, and students for making language and culture a priority by showing up each Saturday throughout the year. Preserving our students’ heritage and language helps strengthen their identity and ensures these traditions are passed on to future generations.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our outstanding instructors, Mrs. Olivia Colli-Boyd and Mrs. Rosanna Leduc, for sharing their passion, knowledge, and time with our students.
Thank you as well to Diana Collili, whose vision, leadership, and countless volunteer hours helped establish and grow this program.
We are grateful to the Caruso Club for their continued partnership and generosity, from hosting pasta-making lessons and bocce activities to welcoming us for this special celebration.
We also thank the Caruso Club Culture Committee for partnering with us to provide each student with a beautiful Italian book to take home.
A special thank you to Superintendent Paul Nalli for joining us and supporting the importance of heritage language learning in our community.
As we celebrate another successful year, we also look ahead to the future. Watch for our call-out this September as we explore interest in additional heritage languages and cultural programs. With a minimum of 25 registered students, we can launch a class and help more families connect with their language, culture, and traditions.
Congratulations to all of our students on another successful year of learning, growing, and celebrating their Italian heritage! ❤️🤍💚

🥉 What if the goal you’re chasing today changes what you believe is possible tomorrow?
When Joanne first returned to school in 2021, earning her Ontario Secondary School Diploma felt like a distant goal. Like many adult learners, life got busy, priorities shifted, and progress slowed.
Then something changed.
In August 2024, Joanne walked into T2 Training Systems feeling, in her words, “broke and weak.” What she found there wasn’t just a fitness program, it was a challenge to become stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally.
By May 2025, she had set a goal that once seemed unimaginable: compete in a bikini bodybuilding competition.
The training was intense. Every workout mattered. Every meal mattered. Every day required discipline.
One of Joanne’s favourite quotes is:
“Motivation is like bathing. We recommend it daily.”
She didn’t wait to feel motivated. She built routines.
This year, Joanne made a commitment to herself. If she was going to the gym, she was coming to school too. She also showed up consistently.
When she told her teacher, Val, that she would be taking the month of May off to focus on competition preparation, we all cheered her on!
A few weeks later, Joanne returned with a huge smile and a bronze medal around her neck.
At 39 years old, Joanne placed 3rd in her very first bodybuilding competition.
But perhaps the most important thing she gained wasn’t a medal.
She gained proof.
Proof that goals that seem impossible can become reality when you commit to them one day at a time.
Today, Joanne is completing her final junior credits and has only four senior credits remaining before earning her Ontario Secondary School Diploma. One of those credits will be a co-op placement at T2 Training Systems—the very place that helped her discover what she was capable of.
We are also incredibly grateful to the team at T2 Training Systems for their support of Joanne’s journey. By helping her build confidence and welcoming her as a co-op student, they have demonstrated the power of community partnerships. Opportunities like these help our students connect their learning to real-world experiences and see new possibilities for their future.
Her next goal?
Finishing her remaining four credits by December and walking across the graduation stage in June 2027!
Joanne’s story is a reminder to all of our students:
If you can transform your life enough to stand confidently on a competition stage at 39 years old, you can easily earn your OSSD.
One workout.
One class.
One credit.
One goal at a time.
Congratulations, Joanne. We can’t wait to celebrate your next finish line. 🎓✨

A little late, but no less grateful! ❤️
Last Friday, our St. Albert Learning Centre team had the opportunity to participate in an incredible PA Day at Cambrian College focused on skilled trades, technology, STEM, and apprenticeship pathways. The day provided valuable hands-on learning experiences and new ideas that will help us continue creating meaningful pathways to success for our students.
A special thank you to our Secondary Consultants for organizing such a thoughtful and engaging day.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Cambrian College, a valued and long-standing community partner. Not only did they host an outstanding day of professional learning, but they also surprised us with a generous $1,000 student bursary that will be awarded at our June 24 Graduation and Student Recognition Celebration.
As an added surprise, every staff member received a personalized YETI tumbler—a thoughtful gesture that made everyone feel appreciated and valued.
Thank you, Cambrian College, for your continued partnership, generosity, and commitment to supporting both educators and students. We are proud to work alongside organizations that believe in creating opportunities and brighter futures for all learners.
