What is the difference between Basic and Advanced RPAS certifications?
The difference comes down to where you’re flying and the level of operational risk involved.
Basic Operations: Restricted to uncontrolled (Class G) airspace, flying a minimum of 30 metres (100 feet) away from bystanders, and staying completely clear of airport traffic zones.
Advanced Operations: Required if you need to operate within controlled airspace (Classes C, D, or E), navigate closer than 30 metres to bystanders, or fly directly over people using a manufacturer-declared aircraft.
Not sure which category you fall under? We can help you figure it out!

Flight Safety Tip Thursday 💧✈️
Aircraft cabins can heat up quickly on the ramp, especially during warm weather. Even mild dehydration can affect concentration, decision-making, and overall performance in the cockpit.
Bring water with you and stay hydrated throughout your flight — especially during longer lessons or busy training days. Safe flying starts with taking care of yourself first.
Because safety always comes first. 💪

✈️ What an incredible experience!
At the end of May, a group of ATP students visited the Diamond Aircraft Industries factory in London, Ontario, where they got a firsthand look at how these beautiful aircraft are designed, manufactured, and assembled.
Seeing the process behind the aircraft they fly and train in was both inspiring and educational.
A huge thank you to the amazing team at Diamond Aircraft for hosting us and sharing their expertise. We truly appreciate the opportunity!
