Quick question: Do you clean… or do you disinfect?
Be careful not to use the words cleaning and disinfecting interchangeably as they serve completely different purposes.
🧽 Cleaning removes dirt, oils, and debris from a surface.
🛡️ Disinfecting kills most disease-causing microorganisms—but only when it’s applied to a properly cleaned surface and left wet for the recommended contact time.
As massage therapists, understanding the difference helps protect our clients, ourselves, and our clinics. Small habits make a big difference.

Let’s talk about cupping shapes!
Check out this custom-made whiteboard that I put together for my students.
In Certified Cupping Therapist: Level 1 we talk a lot about tools … because our tools should match our intent!
When tools ➡️match ➡️intent, our therapeutic outcomes can be better for clients.
And if you’re a past student of mine, you know how much I promote safety and pain-free treatments.
Shapes can be unique and fun, but ultimately painful or ineffective when applied incorrectly.
Remember to explore your clinical reasoning for why you’re chosen a tool.
Save this graphic for when you wonder which cupping tool to use next!

Massage therapists from British Columbia to Saskatchewan, Remedial Stone Massage is open for enrollment!
“ One of the biggest takeaways I had from this class was that I am not learning a strict stone routine, and it didn’t feel like a spa. I work with a ton of different clients and always avoided stone therapy work because didn’t feel like it would fit. I took Kelly’s class and I was very surprised. I love that we use multiple different temperatures and the way that she teaches helps you utilize your critical thinking and intuition skills. Thank you so much, Kelly. I can’t wait to continue seeing amazing results in my clients remedial stone massage is a must take course.!!”
- Amanda K, RMT
