Delta Upsilon Western Ontario

Yesterday marks 40 years since the passing of Delta Upsilon Western Ontario Brother and Ontario’s 17th Prime Minister, John P. Robarts.

Brother Robarts was known as the Chairman of the Board. He won two majority governments, built 5 universities, the Ontario Science Centre, Pickering nuclear, all while balancing the budget. He was also a strong proponent of healthcare and the environment.

As the Homecoming Gala approaches on Friday, September 23rd, many of your Brothers are thinking about looking their best. There's usually a few things that come to mind.

1) How much hair have I lost?
2) How much weight can I lose before September 23rd?
3) Where the heck is my DU pin?

While we can't help with the first two items, we can help with the DU pin.

We will be placing an order through IHQ for replacement membership pins. Delta Upsilon keeps these under lock and key because apparently you're not supposed to misplace a small, nondescript pin after 20+ years.

If you are in need of a replacement please do the following.

1) email [email protected] requesting a new pin
2) Provide you name, graduation year and updated contact information - address, phone.
3) The cost is $100 (Inflation is terrible)

Pins will be available for pickup at the Gala event and throughout Homecoming weekend.

The cutoff date to order your pin is August 15th.

Today and always, we remember the brave Canadians who gave their lives for their country. It is because of our veterans and their sacrifices at home and abroad that we are able to live in peace in Canada. We are fortunate at Delta Upsilon to have brothers and alumni currently serving in the Canadian forces. We are thankful for the service of all those in uniform, and ask that you take the time today to think of the Canadians who gave their lives, and those still serving. Lest We Forget.

The Boys had a great time at our Toronto event celebrating the 87th anniversary of our Installation into Delta Upsilon.

Thank you to those who were able to attend, and contributed over $3,000. Not bad for a night out with your Brothers.

Hopefully, the London event on December 6th, at The Ceeps is just as exciting.

Many of you may have recently received an email or letter from our newly formed Legacy Foundation.

At this year's AGM we had some difficult decisions to make about our Chapter Home at 294 Central Ave. After much deliberation, we decided that our Home is critical to our mission of building better men.

We are asking you for three things:
1) Please ensure all of your contact information is current. You can request access to our database to confirm.

2) Please consider donating. The brick wall in the Alumni Room will be permanently embossed with individual donor names.

3) Join us for some great events.
