They plan on accomplishing these goals through each academic schools year which may vary between years as each Executive team changes leadership.

The Indigenous Student Associations goal is to maintain a sense of community amongst their peers and across campus while also attempting to provide programming, events, and workshops in order to educate Western's Campus about Indigenous peoples, their nations/tribes and their distinct cultures alongside current issues involving Indigenous peoples presently.

The flag raising was a moment of reflection, remembrance, and connection. Standing together beneath the Every Child Matters flag reminded us that Truth and Reconciliation is not just a day of recognition, but a lifelong responsibility.

As co-presidents of the Indigenous Students’ Association, we extend our gratitude on behalf of ISA to everyone who joined us, to the speakers, the attendees, and those online in holding space for the Survivors, the children who never made it home, and the communities who continue to carry their stories. Let us remember to carry forward out responsibilities rooted in our traditions, listening to our elders, protecting our languages, lands, and waters, and to live in ways that honour the generations who came before and pass on their knowledge to the generations that will come after us.💜🧡

The Indigenous Students’ Association at Western University stands firmly with the Goose & Dove Initiative and the coalition of students, faculty, and clubs calling on to uphold its responsibility to human rights.

Western has a long legacy of student-led advocacy for justice, equity, and accountability. As Indigenous students, we know that investment choices are never neutral, they either contribute to harm or to healing. When institutions invest in weapons manufacturers and companies operating in occupied territories, they directly perpetuate violence, displacement, and oppression.

We call on Western to align its investments and partnerships with international human rights standards. This is not just about financial portfolios it is about values, accountability, and a future that upholds justice for all peoples❤️‍🔥🫶🏼💜
