All SEG student chapter members are invited to join the next event in the SEG CUSP Webinar Series, which will take place on Thursday, 11 June 2020, at 1 PM EST. The title of this interactive webinar is “The Future of Exploration Geophysics”.

"In the face of low oil prices and the COVD-19 pandemic, the profession of geophysics faces serious changes. Geophysicists have to deal with new challenges and opportunities. What will the future of geophysics look like? Where and how will geophysicists work? What skills do students and emerging professionals need for a successful career? To answer these questions, the SEG Committee on University and Student Programs gathers a group of distinguished speakers who share their experience and opinions from the perspectives of industry experts, university professors, emerging professionals, and non-profit society representatives.

Speaker Bios:

Peter Duncan is President and CEO at Microseismic, Inc.

Manika Prasad is the Professor of Geophysics at the Colorado School of Mines.

Anna Donczew is the Master Education & RACE Manager at EIT Raw Materials.

Vinicius Riguete is an Exploration Geoscientist at Ecopetrol.

Clark Trantham is a retired Technical Advisor from ExxonMobil.

Linda Ford is the Managing Director at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists."

If so, then come out to SEGx’s MATLAB session, where our amazing team can help you and answer your questions to the best of our ability.
This session is open to both undergraduates and graduate students, and please spread the word to other departments and students that you know need help with MATLAB.

SEGx MATLAB HELP SESSION
When: Wednesday Nov 21st
Time: 10:30 am-12:30pm
Location: BSG 0184

Just bring a USB with your work, or a laptop (with MATLAB installed), or just come and sit in and absorb the knowledge, to hopefully apply it to your own work in the future. The computers in the lab will have MATLAB installed on them.
