Secondary School serving the Community of Maple Ridge BC Canada https://secondary.sd42.ca/mrss/ Our music program is second to none.
For over 60 years Maple Ridge Secondary School has played a key part in forming the bedrock upon which the growing community of Maple Ridge was built. Throughout its history MRSS has functioned as a facility inclusive of students, parents, educators and the greater community. We take pride in assuring all of our students that there is an important place for them in our community now and in the fut
ure; we encourage them to celebrate our history and to be confident that they, too, will leave a legacy. MRSS is a dual track English & French Immersion school, offering a variety of education programs and courses from grades 8 to 12. Programs include Advanced Placement, gifted, digital arts academy, learning assistance, cafeteria training and so much more. Due to the large array of programs there are many course options including chamber choir, jazz band, ceramics and sculpture, cabinet construction, automotive technology, Spanish, Japanese, German, digital video and animation and cook training, to name but a few. Additionally, students with special needs, whether emotional, physical or cognitive, are provided with flexible, caring environments that best meet a wide range of learning abilities. Extensive involvement and commitment by staff beyond the classroom creates an array of rich experiences where students continue their pursuit of excellence. MRSS has gained many team and individual provincial championships. At MRSS we have variety of team sports including badminton, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, curling, field hockey, golf, power lifting, rugby, soccer, swimming and water polo, tennis, track & field, volleyball and wrestling. During the year the music program invites the community to concerts showcasing the jazz band, concert band, concert choir, chamber choir and vocal jazz.

Congratulations to Ridge alumni Maggie Coles-Lyster on placing 1st on the World Tour in Italy. It's a dream come true for her. Read all about it at:
Congratulations to the boys ball hockey team who beat Pitt Meadows on Friday to become district champions! After falling behind early the boys kept their composure and battled back to take a 3-1 lead, then locked down the win in the third period with some stingy defense. The Ramblers were led by Cooper Osmack, Toby Bui, and Connor Brown, who all found the back of the net. Ridge will now represent our district at Provincials later this week. Great work Ramblers and let's keep it going at Provincials.
