Grade 6 had a blast with urban artist Philippe Mastrocola! They had brainstormed ideas as a group and getting 67 ideas into one cohesiveness piece is a challenge! They ended up with these ideas: A fireworks background with an evolution of children across the bottom from Kindergarten to Grade 6 adorned with objects and images representative of each year. Then Philippe had a stroke of genius: “Dr. Kat, do you have any tennis balls?” Wow!!! What a fun and cooperative way to do a mural!

Honey Sale today at Junior Campus from 3:50-6:00pm $10/ jar. This is honey made by our very own honey bees on the roof at Senior Campus! This sale raises funds for the grade 6 Mural Project; a long standing tradition of graduating students leaving their mark in a beautiful, creative way on the school they grew up in!

*If it is raining the sale will take place in the Royal lunchroom.

⛺️Grade 5 CampRep! Where core memories are being made! The kids are having a wonderful time!!!

🌎Grade 6 were delighted to receive an incredible donation of a solar panel kit ⚡️with Bluetooth enabled battery and inverter systems from Bright Diamond Consulting, a sustainable energy consulting group founded and run by our very own Lucas Reindler, parent of Livi, in Grade 6 and alumnae Alex, now in Grade 8!

Students have been learning about Greenhouse gasses and climate change in science class, and have brainstormed ways to reduce our ecological footprint, so exploring practical renewable energy solutions was timely!

Dr. Kat will continue the exploration as we connect to the solar panel kit with Bluetooth and track the electricity being generated and stored in real time. With the inverter that Lucas also provided we can power different items to witness how energy that has been produced can be utilized - today we charge a cell phone and powered an electric fan!

We love our Willingdon community and the rich learning experiences that they bring to life, thank you Bright Diamond Consulting and Lucas!

With the nicer weather, Grades 3 & 4 were so excited to take their Girls at Bat club outside at lunch today!

Girls at Bat uses baseball and softball to help girls build confidence, leadership, connection, courage, and a love of sport. We loved seeing the teamwork, encouragement and smiles out on the field today!

🏃‍♀️ Our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students truly shined at this year’s GMAA Halo Road Race. Four of our runners came home with medals 🎖️ Congratulations to Sylvie Reeves and Mila Pasquero, who captured gold 🏅, and to Henry Gaudreau and Joan Madden, who earned bronze 🥉.
What an outstanding achievement by all our athletes!
