Dora Wasserman's legacy lives on in many of the things we do at the Segal Centre. Here's something you might not know: she and Michel Tremblay collaborated closely and had a lasting friendship.

With Di Shvegerins — the Yiddish adaptation of Les Belles-sœurs — opening next week, we find ourselves thinking of that bond, and of how meaningful it is that Michel's iconic text (in what many consider his favourite translation!) is coming back to the Segal Centre for a new generation!

L'œuvre de Dora Wasserman continue de vivre à travers le Centre Segal. Saviez-vous que Dora et Michel Tremblay ont collaboré des années durant, et entretenu une grande amitié ?

Alors que Di Shvegerins — l'adaptation en yiddish des Belles-sœurs — ouvre ses portes la semaine prochaine, nous ne pouvons nous empêcher de penser à ce lien fort qui les unissait. Et à quel point il est symbolique que le texte iconique de Michel (dans ce que beaucoup considèrent comme sa traduction préférée !) soit de nouveau présenté ici, au Centre Segal auprès d’une nouvelle génération.
