Sometimes a parent signs their child up for dance because they are picturing a once-a-week dance lesson and maybe a tutu at the end of the year. They want their child to move, make friends, gain confidence, or have something that belongs to them.

And then something happens that the parent did not expect.

The studio becomes part of their life too.

They find themselves sitting in the lobby next to another parent who understands the rush from school to class. They start appreciating the other children. They cheer for dancers who are not their own. They begin to understand the teacher’s heart and the vibe of a place that slowly starts to feel familiar.

And somewhere along the journey, it is not just the child who found a place to belong.

The parent did too.

That is one of the coolest things about a dance studio. It is not only a place where children learn steps. It becomes a community. A place where families meet, friendships form, people support each other, and children grow up surrounded by adults who become part of their extended family.

So to the parents who walked through the door thinking this was just going to be a class for your child, thank you for becoming part of the journey.

You matter to the culture of the studio.

Your kindness matters.

Your encouragement matters.

The way you care for every child matters.

Because when a dance studio is at its best, it does more than teach children.

13 years of Heart To Sole. 🤍

Some days I sit back and honestly can’t believe this is the life I’ve built.

I’ve owned Heart To Sole for Thirteen years. That’s 13 years of lessons, risks, growth, stress, laughter, tears, long nights, early mornings, problem solving, dreaming big, and giving absolutely everything we have to our dancers and families.

Owning a studio is hard. Really hard. There are days that feel overwhelming and exhausting in ways people don’t always see. But somehow, through all of it, it has also been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

What makes me the proudest isn’t just the accomplishments, the awards, or the growth. It’s the people. The team we’ve built. The teachers who care so deeply. The dancers who trust us. The friendships, the memories, the safe space we’ve created together. Watching kids grow up in our studio and become incredible humans is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’ve watched dancers walk through our doors shy and unsure of themselves, and slowly find confidence, strength, and belonging. I’ve seen the highs of big accomplishments and the lows that come with disappointment, injuries, hard seasons, and self-doubt. Dance teaches so much more than technique — it teaches resilience, teamwork, discipline, and how to keep showing up even when things feel hard.

And the teachers who make the biggest impact are the ones who show up for all of it. Not just on competition weekends or recital days, but in the everyday moments too. The ones who encourage dancers after a rough class, celebrate the little victories, listen when life feels heavy, and genuinely care about who these kids are outside of dance. That kind of support matters more than any trophy ever could.

Choosing a studio is about so much more than awards, titles, or wins. It’s about how a place makes you feel. It’s about finding a space where your child feels supported, valued, inspired, and safe to be themselves. A studio should feel like a second home — somewhere dancers are pushed to grow, but also loved through every stage of that growth. Are we perfect? Of course not, we are growing and learning too, but we get better all the time.

I am so unbelievably proud of our team and everything Heart To Sole has become. None of this happens without passionate people standing beside you, believing in the same vision, and showing up every single day with heart.

To everyone who has been part of this journey over the last 13 years — thank you. You’ve helped create something so special, and I’m forever grateful. 🤍
