Winning feels great, losing doesn’t. We’re hardwired that way, and that’s okay.
But in the heat of the moment, it’s not always easy to know what to say. These positive parenting phrases can help you and your child manage big feelings and get back to what matters most: having fun.
By taking the focus off winning, using positive reinforcement, role modelling good sportsmanship and helping your child cope with big feelings, you can help them learn how to be a good sport and bring the fun back into play time.

Playing games and sports can be an emotional rollercoaster for some kids.
When they’re winning, they feel on top of the world, but when they’re losing, they feel miserable.
The good news is that positive parenting can help kids learn the fundamental skills needed to be a good sport. And focus on what’s most important – having fun!
