Happy Father's Day to all the dads, stepdads, grandpas, and father figures out there! 👔💙

Thank you for helping with homework, pretending to understand "new math," holding the flashlight when nobody can find anything, and reminding us that turning it off and back on again is apparently the solution to everything. 😄

Today, we celebrate the dads who encourage, support, and cheer on their children every step of the way. We hope your day is filled with laughter, appreciation, and maybe even a chance to take a nap!

Before tutoring even begins, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. We consider learning needs, personality, scheduling, programming, and more. There are many factors we consider to help set students up for success from the start.

Today, we celebrate the birth of William Butler Yeats, one of Ireland's most celebrated poets and a Nobel Prize laureate. 📚

What many people don't know is that Yeats struggled significantly with reading as a child due to what is now believed to have been dyslexia. His story is a powerful reminder that difficulties with reading do not define a person's intelligence, creativity, or potential. 🌱😀

With the right support, encouragement, and perseverance, students with dyslexia can achieve extraordinary things. Sometimes the very challenges that make learning difficult can also help shape unique perspectives and remarkable talents. ✨

Many students who struggle with reading comprehension can read the words accurately but aren’t creating strong mental images as they read. One way to support comprehension is to ask, “What are you picturing?” and then encourage students to add more detail to that image. This concept is drawn from the Visualizing and Verbalizing® program by Lindamood-Bell, which focuses on strengthening the connection between language and imagery to support comprehension

Mark's love of teaching is evident in all that he does and we are grateful that he missed working with students so much that after retirement, he decided to join our team! 📚💪

Outside of tutoring, Mark has many interests. He travels extensively, exploring far-off exotic places. Mark is an avid rock-climber and enjoys sabre fencing. He has a keen interest in music, especially jazz and classical music, and he plays a number of different instruments, principally piano.

We feel so lucky to have Mark working with our students 😀✨

🎓 Happy National Higher Education Day!

Every educational journey begins with a strong foundation. From learning to read and write with confidence to developing the skills needed for future success, each step along the way matters.

Today, we celebrate the power of education, lifelong learning, and the opportunities that open when students are given the support they need to reach their full potential. 🌟

Dyslexia isn’t something a child simply outgrows. But with the right instruction and support, students can make tremendous progress and become confident readers.

If you’re wondering whether your child’s struggles are something more, we’re happy to help.
