The smartest person in the room is the room.

That's the idea behind our monthly Security & Emergency Management: Lessons Learned Exchange & Chat.

This isn't a presentation.

It's a conversation.

A chance for security professionals, emergency managers, property managers, event organizers, business leaders, and public safety stakeholders to share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from one another.

You don't need to be an expert.

You don't need all the answers.

Maybe you have a question.

Maybe you have a lesson learned that could help someone else.

Either way, there's a seat at the table.

We'll focus on practical experiences, ideas, and solutions—not confidential client information or company-sensitive details.

Because when professionals come together to learn from one another, everyone benefits.

Together Everyone Accomplishes More.

Because in our profession, the gap between incident and ambulance arrival can mean everything

Violence can unfold in seconds—and security professionals are often already on scene before EMS arrives.

As UK Knife Crime Awareness Week reminds us, preparedness matters. Enhanced emergency response training helps security teams recognize threats early, control life-threatening bleeding, support casualties, and act decisively in those critical first minutes.

Clear communication doesn’t just sound professional—it saves lives. A structured casualty handover helps incoming EMS understand what happened, what you found, and what you’ve already done before the stretcher even moves.

Let’s raise the bar—

“Nobody comes to work with an expectation to be assaulted. There is a clear line that cannot be crossed.”
— Cpl. Gavin Moore, Royal Canadian Mounted Police

SLEMON PARK, P.E.I. — A 40-year-old Ontario man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after a security guard was seriously injured in an alleged vehicle assault early Friday morning.

Police say the guard was performing regular duties when they were assaulted by an individual, including being struck with a vehicle. The guard was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The accused also faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault with a weapon, and three counts of assaulting police officers. Officers were reportedly assaulted during the arrest but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing Tuesday.

We wish the guard a full and speedy recovery.
