🌿✨ June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada! 🌿✨ Let's take this opportunity to recognize and respect the rich cultural heritage, diverse traditions, and significant contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. It’s a time to celebrate Indigenous history, culture, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact the evolving Canada.

For Colleen Spier, leadership has never been about authority, it’s about responsibility.

When Colleen was gifted an eagle feather and told, “We saw a great leader in you.”, it was not just a moment of recognition, it became the highest honour she's ever received.

A Métis-Cree alum, Colleen has built her path to lead with empathy, integrity, and a commitment to lift others as she rose through her career. Now serving as a provincial court judge - after previously leading as the first provincial assistant deputy minister of the Indigenous Justice Secretariat in B.C. reflects the kind of leadership that creates lasting impact.

We’re always proud to see KPU alumni making an impact through their hard work, leadership, and meaningful contributions to their communities and industries.
