Congratulations to KPU student Desmond Tompkins on being named a Surrey and White Rock Board of Trade Top 25 Under 25 honouree!

An English major and social justice advocate, Desmond leads youth-driven arts programming through the Youth Arts Council of Surrey and supports inclusive community education at the White Rock Museum and Archives. His work creates opportunities for young artists to build confidence, share their talents and connect with their communities.

Desmond hopes his journey reminds young people that, with the right support and resilience, they can achieve more than they may have thought possible.

Belonging matters. So does creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to show up as themselves. This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, resilience, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities at KPU and beyond. Our campuses are stronger because of the diverse perspectives and experiences that make up our community.

Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈
