John McCrae Public School, designed by Raymond Moriyama, first opened in 1969. Our motto is: "The Torch - Be Yours to Hold It High"
It was named to commemorate Canadian Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, who, in 1915, composed the poem, "In Flanders Fields".

Students Take the Lead at STEM and Eco Fairs On Friday, May 1, L'Amoreaux Collegiate Institute welcomed students and staff for a full day of learning through its STEM Fair and Eco Fair. Together, the events highlighted how students are exploring real-world environmental challenges and sharing their ideas with the broader school community.Â
