Our community gathered last week for our volunteer reception to celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time to College life and the UCC community. UCC is fortunate to have a broad network of alumni and parent volunteers whose dedication strengthens almost every aspect of the school, enhancing the student experience and building a vibrant, inclusive community.
We also want to share a special thank you to our outgoing PO and PPO presidents, Ann Tebo and Nicol Domingues, for their leadership and service over the past year.
The evening was also a wonderful opportunity to honour our Harold A.D. Roberts Circle Award recipients and Roly Browning Watt, KC ’62. If you missed our recent post celebrating these special award winners, you can read more about them and their incredible impact here: https://ow.ly/tLry50ZcsCu
Thank you to all of our volunteers for everything you do — without you, we wouldn’t be UCC.

Congratulations to many of our chemistry students who have achieved incredible results across several national and international chemistry competitions!
More than 21 students participated in the University of Waterloo Avogadro Exam, a challenging first-year chemistry exam, and UCC’s average score placed well above the national average. Special congratulations to Jett, who achieved a perfect score — earning the highest mark in the world and to Edward, who placed 8th in Canada. Kudos also go to Jerry, Giulio, Artun, Sean, Terry, Alexander and Bill for placing in the top 20% nationwide.
In the Canadian and BC Chemistry Olympiads, Lawrence placed 9th in Canada in the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad and a bronze medal in the BC Olympiad. He has earned a spot at the National Chemistry Camp to compete for one of four spots on Team Canada for the International Chemistry Olympiad! Shoutout to Winston, who earned a Merit Award in the BC Olympiad, and to all our competitors: Evan, Freddy, Giulio, Justin and Edward.
The Canadian Chemistry Contest, organized by the Chemical Institute of Canada for the country's strongest high school chemists, saw Lawrence, Giulio, Edward and Winston earn Merit Awards.
Please join us in celebrating all of our student-chemists!
