This day recognizes and celebrates the rich histories, cultures, languages and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples. It is observed on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, which holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for many Indigenous communities.

As we mark the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, we encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect and engage with Indigenous voices, stories and traditions.
