A safe jobsite isn't just about hard hats and harnesses. It's about how people feel day to day.
Employers have a responsibility to create spaces where workers can speak up without fear, judgment, or stigma. The truth is, the pressure on site doesn't stop when the shift starts, and it doesn't disappear when the tools go down. Let's build a culture where checking in on each other is normal part of the job.
Carpenters' Union Local 27
Building infrastructure and opportunity. Local 27 represents thousands of men & women.
The way we talk about emotions can either keep someone silent or help them open up.
'Bottling it up' has often been seen as normal, but carrying everything alone can take a toll.
It is okay to talk about the problems you are experiencing in your life. Opening up is not a weakness. It is part of taking care of yourself.
What can you say to make it easier for someone to open up?
On every jobsite, it's more than just work. It's a crew looking out for one another.
From journeypeople passing down knowledge to apprentices learning the ropes, the support on site is what keeps our union strong.
Every lesson taught, every helping hand, and every bit of encouragement builds not just better works, but a stronger union. 💪

National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to reflect, but also to think beyond June.
It invites us to continue learning from Indigenous voices throughout the year, not only through awareness, but through ongoing listening, education, and engagement.
It also reminds us of the importance of creating space for Indigenous perspectives to be heard, respected, and meaningfully included in our conversations and communities.
These are not one-time actions, but ongoing responsibilities that require consistency, respect, and intention.

🌈 Supporting our 2SLGBTQI+ coworkers isn't just important, it's essential. 🏳️🌈 Let's be the kind of coworker who uplifts, listens, and celebrates diversity. Together, we create a workplace where everyone thrives.
We stand firmly against homophobia and discrimination of any kind. Join us in building a world where everyone is celebrated for who they are.

Pride Month is a reminder that support matters, at work, in our communities, and in everyday life.
Being an ally means listening, learning, and standing up for inclusion and equality. 🌈
Show empathy. Be a friend. Be an ally. Make a difference.

Due to the forecasted weather conditions this Sunday, our Golf Tournament has been postponed.
The safety of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and staff comes first. We are currently working on a new date and will share more information as soon as it is confirmed.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

At Local 27, soccer fever is hitting hard across the jobsite. ⚽
Different countries, same brotherhood—no matter who lifts the trophy, we're all playing for the same team every day on site. 🏆
Drop your country below, and let the friendly rivalry begin! 💪
People see the finished work, but they don't always see the grind it takes to get there, early mornings, pressure to perform, long days, and the mental weight that gets carried home after the tools are down.
In the trades, we're more than workers. We're people dealing with real stress every single day. Check in more. Support more.
