Congratulations tiny grads! 🄳

We’re so proud of how much these little humans have developed over that last bit, many of them arriving to our centre as young toddlers.

May kindergarten be filled with fun, learning and adventure!

We’ll miss seeing their faces every day but we’re so proud to watch them grow and continue on 🄰

This little gentleman is telling this lovely young lady he likes her braids

I se a sweetness in June that isn’t quite there in September, and that’s comfort

Comfort with peers, with educators, with language, with expression, with so many things

Things feel new, fresh and exciting in September when everyone’s back from summer and our centres are full

But June…. June is comfortable. It’s tiring, hectic, everyone’s wanting and needing a break. But the sweetness of growth shows up in the smallest corners and the quickest moments. And it’s truly a testament to everything that’s happened over the year

The sweetness of June šŸ’™

You never know what you’re going to find at the end of a school day

When our students walk into our after school program there’s a range of emotions and experiences everyone’s had throughout their day

Balancing education with calm and also entertainment can sometimes be a challenge

With my primary students group activities can work really well

They’re engaging with eachother and also following to what the group is doing.

Singing during circle time is great because it’s an outlet and also some time to shine, with them taking turns contributing individually depending on the song

Circle time is one of my favourite ways to bring the class together in an easygoing and fun way, and still have structure

šŸ‘‰šŸ¾What do you think about sing alongs after school?

Early years settings can play a key role in promoting the
visibility, inclusion, and active participation of young children in society.

Opportunities to engage with people, places, and the
natural world in the local environment help children, families, educators, and communities build connections, learn and discover, and make contributions to the world around them.

It fosters a sense of belonging to the local community, the natural environment, and the larger universe of living things.

As well, communities benefit from the rich experiences they have in learning about, with, and from children.

Robbery!

Not the stolen toy, but an adult’s interference in children’s conflicts.

Resisting the urge to get involved when children argue can be hard as an adult; it’s a simple situation and we love fixing problems.

We’d be robbing them of major growth!

Allowing space for toddlers to learn to sort out their own challenges is vital in their development, and it’s so worth while in the long term!

Learning to share, to advocate for themselves, to take turns, to negotiate, to express their emotions, to respect others, the list goes on and on.

Toddlers also have the special gift of letting things go pretty quickly, something WE can actually learn from them 🩷
