Due to today's forecast, which includes strong winds, showers, and the risk of thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's Spring Concert and outdoor activities.
To ensure that families are still able to enjoy and celebrate the hard work of our students, we will be video recording the performances today and will send a link to all families as soon as possible. We are hopeful the recording will be available later today.
For more information, see the email communication sent by Mrs. McCrea.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Have you noticed some schools have smaller class sizes? Here are 3 reasons why.✅
Since our inception and through our high school expansion, BSLS will continue maintaining its smaller classes sizes to provide your child the best educational experience possible.

Our annual Read-A-Thon is back from June 8-11!
As part of our Read-A-Thon, a Scholastic Book Fair will also be happening during the day from June 8-11, and the evening of the Spring Concert (June 11).
Every Read-A-Thon dollar raised goes toward improved literacy materials for all our students—like improved technology, books, and more. For the Book Fair, our goal is to sell sufficient books (over $5000), allowing the school to receive 50% of sales for improving the classrooms!
For more detailed information on the Read-A-Thon, see the communication sent out on May 28.
Happy reading!

It's been 7 weeks since we broke ground to build the only Lutheran high school in Canada. Time flies😅
Last week, we got to see a giant machine pump concrete to each pile cap for the foundation. Such an interesting process!
The remainder of this week will prepare the wood forms and steel reinforcement between the pile caps to construct the grade beams. These beams will support the outer walls.
What an exciting time! Look out for more updates over the upcoming months.

For those with young kids: just your daily dose of parental guidance.
Take some time to reflect and see if your child can do these 5 things.
A little help from home can go a long way. We'll take care of the rest!

Today is the last day of Junior K at our BSLS St. Mary’s Campus😭
They’ve all grown and learnt so much in a short span.
Hopefully we see them again next year!

Ever wondered what your autobiography would look like?🤔
This past week, Ms. Meilleur's Grade 4/5 class presented their own autobiographies. They showed us their past starting at birth, all the way to the future they imagine for themselves.
Everyone's story was unique and original, because every child is different in their own wonderful ways.
How will their autobiographies finish? Who knows. But one thing is for certain: their epic stories are just getting started!🚀

⚠️ Caution: Future engineers and builders at work
Last Thursday at our St. Mary's daycare, our Junior K students created a table out of only cardboard boxes and other cardboard supplies!
This type of lightly structured play lets all the kids' creative ability pour out.
Don't be surprised if you see them building bridges and homes in the future🤷
