The American International School of Costa Rica (AIS) is a private, non-profit association.
AIS is accredited in the United States by Cognia (formerly AdvancED/SACS) and also by the Costa Rica Ministry of Education. This allow students to earn both U.S.and Costa Rican high school diploma. AIS also offers a complete English as a Second Language program (ESL), Spanish as a Second Language program (SSL), and a Learning Support Program (LSP), that supports students with additional needs.

This past Friday, we proudly closed the 2025–2026 school year with our Graduation Ceremonies, celebrating important milestones in the lives of our students. 🎓
From our Kindergarten graduates taking their first big step in their academic journey, to our 6th Grade students preparing for Middle School, and our Class of 2026 embarking on exciting new adventures beyond AIS, it was a day filled with pride, joy, and unforgettable memories.
