Yesterday, Fireflies explored seasonal fruits and vegetables through hands-on learning and imaginative play! 🍎🥕🍓

The children enjoyed role-playing with a variety of fruits and vegetables, pretending to prepare and cut them while engaging in creative kitchen-themed activities. This helped develop their communication skills, fine motor coordination, and understanding of healthy foods.

To extend their learning, the children also created their very own strawberries using art materials. They were excited to express their creativity while learning more about this delicious seasonal fruit.

After our end-of-year rehearsal, the whole school came together to enjoy some refreshing watermelon! 🍉 The children were full of excitement as they gathered with their friends, sharing smiles, laughter, and a well-deserved treat. A wonderful way to celebrate the end of a busy and successful year! ❤️

Recently in Ladybirds Class, the children put their fine motor skills to work by squeezing oranges and enjoyed tasting the fresh juice they made! 🍊

They also created a colourful orange juice craft, developing their creativity, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills while having lots of fun. Well done, Ladybirds! 🌟

Recently in Fireflies Class, the children learned a new Jolly Phonics sound: “j”.They listened to and sang along with the “Jelly and Jam” song, which they thoroughly enjoyed! Their favourite part of the lesson was tasting some jelly. 🍮

The children also practised their fine motor skills by using scissors and glue to cut out and create their own jellies. They finished the activity by tracing the letter **j**, helping to reinforce their learning in a fun and engaging way.

Counting, creativity, and fine motor skills practice while having fun! 🍦🎨✨

The children enjoyed exploring ice painting and taking part in an exciting ice cream counting activity. They carefully counted the numbers shown and painted the matching number of scoops onto each ice cream cone, developing their early maths skills through play.

These engaging activities helped to support number recognition, counting skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor development, while encouraging creativity and confidence.

Yesterday, the Fireflies children enjoyed exploring our summer sensory trays, filled with a variety of natural materials to investigate through hands-on play. They were excited to discover different textures, colours, and scents as they engaged with the sensory experiences on offer.

A favourite activity was our lemon boats, where the children floated them in water and explored how they moved and balanced. They also thoroughly enjoyed the orange and cucumber water tray, using their senses to explore the refreshing ingredients while developing their curiosity and observation skills.

Using tweezers, the children carefully picked cucumber pieces from the water. This activity helped to strengthen their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration while providing a fun and engaging challenge.

After reading the children’s book It All Began with a Lemonade, our children were inspired by its message of teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurship. They talked about how the characters worked together to make and sell lemonade, then put those lessons into practice by making their own!
Working together, they carefully mixed the ingredients, developed their teamwork skills, and proudly shared their homemade lemonade with their friends. It was a wonderful experience that encouraged collaboration, creativity, and kindness through sharing. 🍋💛
