💜🧡Liebste Archies & Friends🧡💜

ACHTUNG AUFGEPASST:

Dearest Archies & Friends

HEADS UP:
Start liquifying your hips, resting your eyes, and loosening up your calves. Because on July 4th, it’s that time again: filmArche is opening its doors. Not just for another amazing party, but also for a glorious day of 48h Neukölln.

Mark your calendars right away, and come in droves! To the most beautiful canal-end in Berlin. You little canal rats.
We start at 12 noon and end in the night, when we are too exhausted from the bass, and our legs crave relaxation.

During the day, you can look forward to screenings, insights into our school life, small workshops, discussions, food from Fatima, and a pub quiz where you can finally let your inner film nerd run wild without anyone giving you weird looks – If that doesn’t sound appealing?! And of course, our bar will be open all day long.

Come, let’s spend the day and night together!

Film Academy as political space?

The DFFB, which owns proudly a history of political filmmaking has become a space where interaction with contemporary political events is rarely collectively experienced. But in times of rising fascism, it is important to reflect on the means and the aesthetics of political film, as well as on issues that come with production and distribution.

On the 28.05. we invite you to a gathering where we want to discuss aesthetic and potential of political film, with inputs by Julia Lazarus (“Radical Film Network”), Paloma Schnitzer („the other classroom“, Udk”) and students from other film schools.

We aim to form new bonds and alliances, discuss ideas and strategies and challenge our position within the current political landscape in Germany. These issues are directly linked to the massive crackdown on voices expressing solidarity with Palestine and the resulting restrictions on fundamental democratic rights, which are increasingly putting not only political protests but also artistic freedom and the cultural landscape under pressure.

As part of the "Salon für Faultiere", this is the second of three events, where we watch movies, hear inputs, discuss. There will also be some snacks.

If you have ideas, contributions or want to help, contact us at [email protected]
We welcome your suggestions.

Location: Urbanstraße 45

28.5.2026, 18:00, about AESTHETICS AND POTENTIAL OF POLITICAL FILM

🏡 Ort: Vollgut-Gemeinschaftsgarten, Am Sudhaus 4, Berlin

⏰ Zeit: 27.05, 21:30 Uhr

Open Air • Eintritt frei • Eine Kollaboration der Filmarche und des Zuhause e.V.

Perfektion nervt.

***ENGLISH***

“You’re always at your best when you actually don’t care that much.”

For our first open-air screening of the year, we invite you to an evening of experiments and unfinished ideas.

🏡 Location: Vollgut Community Garden, Am Sudhaus 4, Berlin

⏰ Time: 27th of May, Start at 9:30 PM

Open Air • Free entry • A collaboration between Filmarche and Zuhause e.V.

Perfection is annoying. And it keeps us from trying things out. We’ll screen and talk about films that are playful, don’t take themselves too seriously, and dare to experiment.

Come by, bring your friends, have a drink with us, and watch films that are willing to fail.
