The law says you have 14 days to register after moving in.
The Bürgeramt: how does August work for you? 😅
So you ask a friend.
Karl helps Jackie understand everything they need for an Anmeldung appointment — including the Wohnungsgeberbestätigung, a form your landlord signs to confirm you live in the flat you’ve been renting.
If you’re new to Berlin, save this one.
Vocab from the video:
der Termin → the appointment
das Formular → the form
der Vermieter → the landlord
die Anmeldung → the registration
Doing all of this in German? That’s what we’re here for. Courses from A1, in Mitte and online → link in bio.

Good teachers are hard to find. Ours remember what you struggled with last Tuesday, and still believe in you when you’ve mixed up dative and accusative for the fourth time.
We took them for a picnic. We are so grateful!
Danke schön, team. Wir schätzen euch 🌿

Last month we took a trip to Potsdam 🏛️ — one of the perks of learning with us.
We love taking our students out to practise German in real life. Walking tours, day trips, little adventures — it’s all part of learning with All on Board.
And speaking of getting together — Stammtisch is TONIGHT 🍺 Südblock, Kottbusser Tor. Come along, speak German, meet people. All levels welcome.

🚲 New on the blog — and Karl has opinions.
Berlin and bikes go together like, well… Berlin and bikes. But Karl? Karl grew up cycling everywhere in Oldenburg and absolutely hated it. Flat tyres every week, wind always from the wrong direction, and don’t even get him started on his mum’s Gazelle — nicknamed das Rhinozeros in the family.
