Do you live outside of Denmark – and are you looking for a postdoc position?
The Faculty of Health at Aarhus University offers possibilities to conduct high-level research under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions in an inspiring and ambitious environment (start the summer of 2024). One of those projects is on “Dental Sleep Medicine,” where I will be the host Supervisor. I hope you will share the below link with anyone who might be interested:
Dental sleep medicine: Unveiling the physiological mechanisms involved in dental sleep disorders.
The Postdoctoral Fellowship action targets Ph.D. researchers who wish to conduct their research activities abroad, acquire new skills, and develop their careers. Different research backgrounds are welcomed: dentist, physiotherapist, psychologist, different types of engineers, etc.
Please get in touch with Eduardo Castrillon before 31 March 2023 with your resume and a short description of your motivation for this project.
If we make a match, we will apply for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship funding together (EU deadline September 2023).

New research from our section!
Article highlights:
Following a tooth-clenching task, increased pericranial tenderness (PCT) was not required to trigger an episode of tension-type headache in healthy participants.
Pain modulation profiles could not predict who developed headache and who did not, following the provocation tasks.
Activation of descending inhibitory pathways, as assessed by decreases in PCT, may have been protective against the development of headache.
Characterization and predictive mechanisms of experimentally induced tension-type headache - Fernando Gustavo Exposto, Karina H Bendixen, Malin Ernberg, Flemming Winther Bach, Peter Svensson, 2019
ObjectiveStudies have shown it is possible to elicit a tension-type headache episode in 15 to 30% of healthy individuals following a tooth-clenching or stress-inducing task. Despite this, no studie...
