ADMISSION:
The admission of students are not solely given on their background of training and/or preferred style of dance, but more importantly we audition our international students based on their talent and mentality. If your background training is or has been gymnastics, ice skating or other creative body training, we also want to see you. Talent, personality and body language is the deciding factor at I.D.A as is the case when you will be facing the professional perforce industry worldwide. CLASSES:
Classes are conducted in both Copenhagen & Hollywood. The education starts in September and runs through June - Monday to Friday every week. HOLLYWOOD
During your 2 months stay in Hollywood you will be living at our exclusive estate in Los Angeles, working each day with the highest level of teachers and choreographers in the entertainment industry. You will experience what it is like to be part of the professional dance community and get an exceptional opportunity to create international contacts and build your professional network during your education and training process. You will throughout your daily training at IDA in Hollywood work with some of the best instructors and choreographers in the industry at dance in studios like: Millenium Dance Complex and Eighty Eight Dance Studios. Classes in Copenhagen will be taught Monday to Friday from 8.30AM to 3.30PM. All classes will be given by some of Europe's most well-trained professional instructors, choreographers and guest teachers. Our founder Sonny Fredie Pedersen oversees and acts as both a consultant and lecturer alongside our highly experienced faculty.

CURRICULUM:
Following dance styles are part of the training at our academy:
- Hip Hop, Old School, New School, LA style, Girly and Girly Heels.
- Jazz, Musical Theatre Dance, Tap Dance, Character Dance.
- Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Technical training.
- Funk styles of Locking, Popping & Wacking.
- House Dance

Stage-presence and audition techniques are a natural part of the 10 month curriculum as well as knowledge of a dancers anatomy and health. You will receive knowledge of career management – how to get in touch with agents, how to present yourself and how to find auditions at home or abroad. At International Dance Academy we are working with the worlds leading dance- & choreography agency McDonald Selznick Associates Agency in Hollywood. Our founder Sonny Fredie Pedersen is also represented by McDonald Selznick Associates Agency. The curriculum will be individually tailored and personalised to fit each students specific needs and goals. All students will receive personal coaching and one-to-one talks and evaluations on a regular basis. As a student at I.D.A you will also participate in mandatory dance performances throughout the year. You will experience how to perform on a professional stage, with professional lighting and sound technique all staged by IDA's choreographers. Upon completion of your eduction at International Dance Academy you will receive a diploma along with valuable personal statements from both our artistic director and our founder Sonny Fredie Pedersen.

INTERNATIONAL DANCE ACADEMY:
1 year - The Graduate
Our full-time 1 year Graduate education includes 8 months of full-time training at our academy in Copenhagen plus 2 months of intensive training and accommodation at our academy in Hollywood. Total Price: EUR 16.000

We are also able to offer the entire education in Copenhagen only - excluding the trip to Hollywood.

2 Year - The Master
Our full-time 2 year Master education includes 16 months of full-time training at our academy in Copenhagen plus 4 months of intensive training and accommodation at our academy in Hollywood. Total Price: EUR 29.000

POST-EDUCATION:
Also available is our Post-Educational Program for those of you who have finished our full-time dance education or any other educational dance programs at our academy. For further information, contact our office directly on mail [email protected]

ONE-YEAR DANCE INSTRUCTOR & CHOREOGRAPHER EDUCATION. We now offer a one year dance instructor & choreographer educational program. This versatile program with curriculum in instruction & choreography includes 8 months of full-time training at the IDA academy in Copenhagen + 2 months of intensive training and accommodation at our academy in Hollywood. Total Price EUR 16.000

Do you wish only to study in Copenhagen for the entire 10 months of our Dance Instructor & Choreographer Educational Program and exclude the trip to Los Angeles, we also offer that.

HISTORY & LEGACY of INTERNATIONAL DANCE ACADEMY:
The Fredie-Pedersen Performing Arts Schools has offered professional dance educations since 1935. It was also Fredie-Pedersen who broke the monopoly of the Danish National Theatre School by opening up Denmark’s first private Musical Theatre school back in 1984 called "International School Of Performing Arts". International Dance Academy opened it's doors in 2008 and was created and founded by 3rd generation Fredie-Pedersen, Sonny Fredie Pedersen. The Artistic director and principal of I.D.A is Søs Fredie-Pedersen who has more than 30. years of experience in educating professional dancers. Our long and invaluable experience and expertise naturally benefits our International Dance Academy students. A vast number of our schools alumni are now have careers as professional dancers, choreographers and/or instructors in the entertainment industry. We have educated students from across the World.
