What a Saturday! ⚽🌟

The first BAA Football Tournament was an incredible day of sport, energy and community! We were proud to host it at the facilities of , a foundation that works to support social inclusion through educational and sports initiatives.

A huge thank you to all the students, teachers, staff, alumni and friends who joined, played and supported and made the day so special.

In the Landscape Painting seminar, students from the BAA spend the day painting en plein air across Barcelona, engaging directly with the city’s architecture, light, and atmosphere, guided by teachers Ignacio Carmona () and Bernat Barris ().

🌟This September, join for a 5-day workshop exploring Academic Expressionism, where strong technical foundations meet personal, expressive language.

Working from the live model, the focus will be on constructing the figure as a sculptural form in light, combining anatomy, optics, and dynamic symmetry with more intuitive, expressive decision-making.

Lucas Bononi is a New York–based artist whose practice bridges academic realism and contemporary expression, with a strong focus on form, composition, and the relationship between structure and emotion.

Open to all levels.

This September at the BAA, join Patrick Byrnes () for a special five-day workshop: Portrait Drawing in Trois Crayons. Working from the live model, artists will explore this historic Renaissance technique using red, black, and white chalk to build form, structure, and light. Open to all levels, the course emphasizes a clear, analytical approach to portrait drawing through demonstration, critique, and hands-on practice.
