🏊‍♂️ Last summer, I made a decision.
I could spend July doing what I'd always done...
Or I could use the extra time to finally achieve a goal I'd been putting off for years.
I chose the second option.
My goal? Passing the Cambridge C2 Proficiency exam.
At first, it felt overwhelming.
Work was busy.
Life was busy.
And honestly, after a long day, sitting by the pool with a grammar book wasn't always my idea of fun!
But every evening I showed up.
📚 A little reading.
✍️ A little writing.
🎧 A little listening.
🗣️ A little speaking.
The biggest help was joining online classes.
Having a teacher to guide me, challenge me, and keep me accountable gave me the structure I needed to keep moving forward.
It wasn't easy.
But one day the results arrived.
And I'd passed.
The certificate was amazing.
But the confidence it gave me was even better.
Confidence at work.
Confidence speaking English.
Confidence knowing that new opportunities were within reach.
Looking back, that summer changed far more than my English.
It changed how I saw myself.
