Yes, it is now official—our graduating class has successfully completed their high school journey!

What a remarkable year it has been for our school community. Together, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary with pride, engaged in meaningful Environmental Stewardship initiatives, and carried out community service projects that made a lasting impact—including helping provide a clean water source for our neighboring government school. Alongside these memorable moments, our students successfully completed their International Assessments and participated in countless academic, cultural, athletic, and service-oriented events that enriched their educational journey.

"Hats off to Year 1"

What a wonderful way to celebrate a year of learning, growth, and achievement! Our Year I students gathered today for a special graduation ceremony, marking the successful completion of an exciting and memorable school year.

The event was filled with joy as our young learners showcased their talents through inspiring poems, cheerful songs, and vibrant traditional dances that reflected both their accomplishments and our rich cultural heritage. Their confidence and enthusiasm brought smiles to everyone in attendance.

We are pleased to share that our students proudly participated in the AU-EU Summit Model held at the African Union Headquarters as part of the Model African Union Youth Empowerment Program. During the event, our students actively engaged in discussions on diplomacy, leadership, and international cooperation, and were recognized for their enthusiastic participation and contribution.

Beyond the recognition they received, the program served as a valuable Youth Empowerment opportunity, helping students strengthen their confidence, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills while gaining meaningful exposure to global issues and collaborative learning experiences.

Congratulations to all One Planet Families!

There are moments in a school community that remind us of the true purpose of education—moments when compassion is transformed into action. At One Planet International School, social action is an integral part of our culture, teaching students to create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.

This year, as part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration, the Environmental Stewardship Project focused on Beshale Primary School, where more than 1,600 members of the school community faced challenges accessing clean water. Through the dedication and generosity of the One Planet community, a successful fundraising effort made it possible to drill a water well that now provides a reliable source of clean water for more than 1,600 people in the school community.

The official inauguration, held today, Friday, May 8, was attended by distinguished guests from the Lemi Kura Sub-City Administration, including representatives from the Head of the Education Office for Lemi Kura Sub-City, Woreda 8. In their congratulatory remarks, they thanked One Planet International School for the positive impact it has brought to students and the surrounding community.

More than a project, the water well stands as a symbol of unity, service, and the power of education to transform lives.
