Dear ISN Community,

In line with the advisory issued by the Ministry of Education and due to the deteriorating weather conditions being experienced across Fiji, International School Nadi (ISN) will be closed today, Tuesday, 16 June.

The decision follows consultations between the Ministry of Education, the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO), and the Fiji Meteorological Service, which have reported persistent heavy rainfall, strong winds, flooding, and coastal inundation affecting many parts of the country.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff, and families remain our highest priority. We encourage all members of our community to remain safe at home and avoid travelling through flooded or affected areas. Please do not attempt to cross flooded roads, bridges, creeks, or rivers.

We will continue to monitor official updates and will keep families informed regarding any further developments and the resumption of normal school operations.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support. Please stay safe and take all necessary precautions during this period of severe weather.

Our PYP 2 students recently went on an exciting educational excursion to Pacific Specialist HealthCare and Fiji Airways Hangar, exploring the inspiring work of our community heroes!

During their visit, students discovered how doctors, nurses, pilots, and aviation staff serve our community with responsibility, teamwork, and dedication. They also visited the supermarket to experience making smart choices between needs and wants—learning firsthand how people's career decisions help them meet their personal and community goals.

Through these real-world experiences, our students gained a deeper understanding of themselves, their role models, and the diverse ways people contribute to society.

What an amazing day of learning! ✈️💙

After a productive and rewarding week, our staff came together for Fusion Friday — a dedicated wellness initiative focused on promoting staff wellbeing, reducing stress, and strengthening team connections.

Through laughter, activities, and shared moments, the afternoon provided a valuable opportunity to recharge, unwind, and foster a positive workplace culture. A wonderful way to end the week and look ahead to the next with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

A big vinaka vakalevu to the Fijian Drua for hosting us at your headquarters. It was a fantastic experience for our students and staff to learn more about the team, its culture, and the dedication behind your success.

PYP 1 students enjoyed an exciting and meaningful excursion to Animals Fiji and Fijian Drua as part of our learning journey.

At Animals Fiji, students explored the importance of caring for animals, protecting the environment, and showing responsibility within our community. They participated in engaging activities, learned about animal welfare, and experienced hands-on interactions that deepened their understanding of kindness and sustainability.

During our visit to the Fijian Drua, students learned about healthy lifestyles, teamwork, exercise, and wellbeing. They observed how athletes train, work together, and make positive choices to support both their physical and emotional wellbeing.

The excursion connected closely to our Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are, where students are exploring how the choices we make affect our health, relationships, and wellbeing. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, curiosity, and memorable experiences for our PYP 1 learners.

What an incredible start for the ISN Swim Team! Day 1 wrapped up with an outstanding medal haul and some truly impressive performances across all age groups. From powerful relay finishes to personal bests in the pool, our swimmers showed determination, teamwork, and true ISN spirit every step of the way!
