ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING NOTICE
05/06/2026
SEEP's Frontline Monitoring Team welcomes the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change's decision to establish an independent scientific laboratory to strengthen environmental monitoring in Fiji.
This is an important step towards better environmental protection and a great opportunity to strengthen citizen science. Through our Frontline Monitoring Project, young girls and youth in rural communities are already monitoring changes in their freshwater, marine, and terrestrial ecosystems and sharing their findings through their Bose Va Koro.
We congratulate Permanent Secretary Sivendra Michael and the Ministry on this initiative and look forward to future collaboration that brings together community knowledge and scientific research for a healthier and more sustainable Fiji.

๐ข : Although French authorities have confirmed that provincial elections will be held by the end of June 2026, the situation in Kanaky New Caledonia requires continued vigilance.
These elections must take place no later than 28 June 2026, in order to restore institutional stability and legitimacy, and to bring an end to a period of serious democratic uncertainty.
We call for strengthened regional solidarity across Oceania, grounded in our shared histories of decolonisation and our collective aspiration for a true โOcean of Peace,โ where the sovereignty and self-determination of all peoples are fully respected.
The future of Kanaky New Caledonia is inseparable from this shared vision of dignity.
We therefore urge France to honour its decolonisation commitments and to respect the history and aspirations of Pacific peoples and nations.
