It has been a busy few months for our Human Rights and Data Science students.
This spring, Hadas Marcus and Alisia Simmons joined program director Dr. Claudia Roda to participate in the UNESCO event for the ECOSOC Youth Forum. Dr. Roda holds the UNESCO Chair in AI and Human Rights, and it was great to see her bring students along to contribute to this global dialogue.
This experience is a perfect reflection of what HRDS students are doing to move beyond the classroom. They aren't just studying policy; they are taking the lead on how we bridge the gap between complex AI systems and the communities they actually affect.
For example, Hadas and Alisia recently led an AUP Think Tank initiative where they convened UN actors, researchers, and youth movements to tackle real-world challenges like data governance and digital inequality.
If you want to be part of a program that moves between theory and real-world impact, take a look at our MSc in Human Rights and Data Science: https://graduate.aup.edu/academics/programs/msc-human-rights-and-data-science
