YPI empowers young people to make a difference in their communities, while developing a host of essential skills.

More than 200,000 have been empowered by YPI across Scotland, channelling £4.5m to a range of charities addressing issues such as mental health, poverty, baby loss, health support, domestic and sexual abuse, and community care.

One week on from the YPI National Event, we hear from the incredible voices who made the day so special.

Behind the scenes, we caught up with our amazing hosts Sam, Blake, and Josh to hear how taking part in YPI has helped them grow. From a massive boost in confidence to the powerful realisation that they can truly make an impact on the world, their experience is what YPI is all about.

We also grabbed a moment with the brilliant Nathan Evans and SAINT PHNX right after they stepped off stage, and they had nothing but praise for the energy in the room (spoiler: they said you were a great crowd!)

Check out the full video to hear their highlights, reflections and key takeaways from the day.

The Wood Foundation and our funding partners supply a grant of £3000 grant for every one of the 280 schools that takes part in YPI but it's still always difficult for the other finalist groups despite the fact that all the young people have already done so much for their charities by raising awareness.

That's why moments like this are so special. When an individual or business recognises the value of YPI and supports schools to award further donations it is the icing on the cake.

Secondary schools in all 32 local authorities take part in YPI and are often open to discussions around additional funding.

A failed MOT can be a huge challenge for a small charity, the winning team at Springburn Academy through taking part in YPI understood the challenge this created for Possobilities and it's users and were determined to help.

We always encourage young people to try and stay connected with their chosen charity, that is made so much easier when charities work with the young people to enable this.

It was a delight to hear the team at Anam Cara Fasgadh discuss plans to work with young people going forward to arrange memorial's in their local areas, we look forward to hearing all about it.

Every school that takes part in YPI is allocated a £3000 grant from The Wood Foundation in partnership with schools and other funders which can make a huge difference to a local charity.

What's special about our grant funding though is that it is not based on the charity itself but rather what young people choose to advocate for and how they manage to represent their chosen charity.

That mean's there is no limit to how many times a charity can be represented and if the young people advocating for them make the strongest case, no limit to how many times they can win.

Thank you Togs - Children's Clothing Bank for Tayside for engaging so well with the young people who take part in YPI and well done on your £9000 grant funding this year.

Thank you to Northwood Charitable Trust for your funding and support across Tayside.

⭐️ Thank You ⭐️

Despite Togs being temporarily closed due to the roof collapse at Showcase the Street, some of our volunteers have still been busy in other aspects of volunteering.

They have supported YPI events within various high schools in Dundee, we are delighted that three groups from three different schools chose Togs and have all been successful in winning the prize of £3000! That’s £9000 in total won for Togs - congratulations to the winning group from Morgan, Grove and St John’s

It’s VolunteersWeek 1st - 7th June and Togs would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing team past and present for all their hard work, we couldn’t do what we do without you all ❤️
