Fantastic trip to see new RSC musical The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind at Soho Place theatre in London’s West End. Highly thought-provoking exploring themes of community, belief and growing up in Malawian culture. Larkmead students were afforded the opportunity of a post-show talk with the cast and creatives, where they talked about their roles, characters and experiences on stage. The staff team would like to thank the Larkmead students who were once again an absolute credit to themselves and the school.

The Larkmead Art Department has been, as always, a hive of activity and creativity.
Year 8 have created some great final pieces based on their Fabulous Food project. This included textured painted backgrounds with still life observations of fruit and dessert bowls using mark making techniques using fine line pen.
Year 9 Artists have taken part in acrylic painting workshops and used their knowledge of this to create some wonderful acrylic bird paintings as part of their garden habitats unit.
Year 10 GCSE photographers have stitched into their photographs to create imaginative responses in the style of Italian artist Maurizio Azeri. Keep up the brilliant work! Stay tuned for year 7 portraits coming soon!
