🎨 Messy Fun 🎨

Preschool have been using shaving foam and paint to explore colour mixing. They told us they made "peach" "green" "light blue" "pink" "purple" and "orange".

They took their exploration further, using paintbrushes and their hands to create marks and letter type shapes. They also put the mixture made on their arms, saying "This is our suncream"

Lots of fun was definitely had!

Here’s a sneaky peek of the garden at Warkworth. We’ve still got a few more resources to add, but it’s coming along nicely!

🐝🐑 Getting Out and About 🐑🐝

Some of our preschool children went out on a walk this morning. Before we left, we put on our Hi-Vis jackets and talked about how to keep safe while out and about

On our walk, we noticed bees on flowers, collecting pollen. We also followed a public walkway through a sheep field, which the children found super exciting. On our way back, we heard a rumble of thunder and even got a tiny bit wet in the rain!

Some comments include:

"I can't believe we went in the sheep field"

"It was so fun"

"We just hear the thunder"

🪲Natural World🪲

Some of our preschool children have been demonstrating excellent bug hunting skills. They found two Red Soldier Beetles and two Ladybirds 🐞

The children talked about what they observed:

"Maybe he is looking for his family"

"Don't squish him"

"Look I found another beetle"

Together, we looked up what the different types of bugs like to eat and where they like to live

🍎🧁 This week the babies have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

They’ve been busy baking their very own healthy snacks to enjoy at snack time — from apple & banana biscuits 🍌 to cheesy twists 🧀 and delicious oaty sensations 🌾.

The children loved exploring new textures, mixing ingredients, and of course tasting their yummy creations! 😋💛

Today, the children across the nursery celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday with a special ‘afternoon tea’ banquet lunch outside in the garden.

We searched high and low for different animals, as we know Sir David has a great love for nature and wildlife. The children loved spotting birds and discovering mini-beasts hiding in the grass.
