Due to the high temperatures next week, students will not be required to wear their blazers to school, and we will review, daily, any reasonable adjustments needed to uniform.
In order for students to be as comfortable as possible, classrooms will be open at break and lunch so that students can avoid the sun across the school day.
We will ensure classrooms are well ventilated and students have access to water, whenever they need it.
We encourage all parents and carers to ensure students have a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat, for use across the week.
Please contact your reception, if you are concerned about your child and the hot weather, particularly if they have a medical issue.

This week we said goodbye to our amazing Year 11 students as they begin the next chapter of their journey.

It’s hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by. Watching this group grow into the young adults they are today has been a privilege, and while we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved, there is definitely a sense of sadness as they leave us.

As you move on to college, apprenticeships, training or employment, we wish you every success and happiness for the future. Be ambitious, work hard, believe in yourselves and never forget how much potential you have.

Remember, once you are part of the Futures family, you are always part of the Futures family. Our doors will always be open, and we would love to hear how you are getting on in the years ahead. Please come back and visit us, share your achievements, and let us know where life takes you and what careers you pursue as part of our growing Futures Alumni community.

πŸš€πŸ”¬βœ¨ A Fantastic STEM Adventure at the Big Bang Fair! βœ¨πŸ”¬πŸš€

Last week, our Year 7 and Year 8 students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the Big Bang Fair at the NEC – and what an incredible day it was!

Students immersed themselves in a world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, exploring a huge range of interactive exhibits and hands-on activities. From experiencing cutting-edge technology to discovering exciting future career opportunities, there was something to inspire everyone.

One of the highlights of the day was getting up close with innovative technologies, including drones and flight simulators, giving students a real insight into the amazing possibilities within STEM industries. They also had the chance to meet industry professionals, ask questions and learn about the many pathways available to them in the future.

The enthusiasm, curiosity and engagement shown by our students throughout the day were outstanding, and it was wonderful to see them embracing new experiences and challenging themselves to think big.

πŸ•βš½πŸ Celebrating Our Incredible Year 11 Students πŸβš½πŸ•

On Friday, we had the pleasure of celebrating our fantastic Year 11 students as they move ever closer to the end of their GCSE examination journey. With their final exams now within touching distance, it was the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect and recognise everything they have achieved so far.

To reward their hard work, resilience and dedication throughout the exam season, students enjoyed a well-deserved afternoon of pizza, football, cricket and rounders with their friends. With over 20 pizzas shared, there was plenty of food and laughter as everyone took a break from revision and exams.

We would also like to give special recognition to those students who have demonstrated outstanding attendance throughout the examination period. Their commitment, determination and maturity have been exemplary, and we are incredibly proud of the way they have approached this important stage of their education.

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying time together and celebrating how far they have come. As they prepare for their final exams and begin looking ahead to the next chapter, we want them to know just how proud we are of them. They have been a valued part of the Futures Institute community and will be greatly missed when the time comes for them to move on.

Keep going, Year 11 – the finish line is in sight! We wish you every success in your remaining exams and cannot wait to celebrate with you once they are complete. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ“

This term, Year 7 students have been learning about the different rock types and landscapes that are found around the UK. EKFB were kind enough to come in and deliver a series of workshops to year 7 to show them the properties of different rocks and how geology is playing a huge role in the construction of HS2.

As the world looks ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2026, we are reminded that the most successful teams are not built on talent aloneβ€”they succeed because they show up every day, work hard, support one another, and never give up when challenges arise.

Just like the players representing their countries, every one of us has a role to play in our team here at Wykham Park Academy.

Excellent attendance is the first step towards success because you cannot learn, improve, or contribute if you are not here.

By attending school every day, arriving on time, and giving your best effort, you help yourself, your mentor group, and our whole school community succeed.

Champions are not made on match dayβ€”they are made through commitment, teamwork, and showing up every single day.
