Another lovely World Book Day at Hardwick! We loved seeing all the children's fabulous costumes and seeing everyone get stuck into our whole school World Book Day book - The Café at the Edge of the Woods. We wish it could be fancy dress every day. GLF Schools

Introducing Hardwick Sports Allstars

Confidence, teamwork and fun through football
Run by Hardwick Sports Football Club, Hardwick Sports Allstars is designed to help children build confidence, develop core football skills and enjoy being active in a friendly, supportive environment.
👉 This programme is exclusive to Hardwick Primary School pupils only.
⚽ Who is it for?
• Years 1 & 2 – Early skills, movement, confidence and fun
• Years 3 & 4 – Skill development, teamwork and game understanding
Sessions are carefully tailored to each age group, with two separate time slots to ensure every child gets the most from their session.
💬 What’s it all about?
Hardwick Sports Allstars isn’t about ability or experience — it’s about:
• Building confidence
• Learning through play
• Encouraging teamwork and resilience
• Creating a positive first (or next!) step into football
Whether your child is football-mad or just finding their feet, they’ll be welcomed and supported.

• FA & School affiliated

Today, I have written to Hardwick Primary School, congratulating them on their hard work. They have received a letter from Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, commending their excellent outcomes for disadvantaged pupils at the school. Many congratulations!

We were very proud to have received a communication from the Secretary of State for Education, Bridgett Phillipson, congratulating Hardwick on excellent outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. The email said:

Congratulations to you and your team on the excellent outcomes the disadvantaged pupils at Hardwick Primary School achieved at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. Your school’s performance places it among the very best nationally, and this is a significant achievement.

This success reflects the dedication of your staff and the hard work of your pupils. It shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together. Thank you for everything you do to give children the best possible opportunities to succeed.

Your school’s achievements demonstrate what is possible, and I hope you will continue to share your experience and best practice with others. Even the strongest schools can go further. We are incredibly proud to announce that Hardwick Primary School & Nursery has been awarded the prestigious Equal Access School Award 2025 by the FA.

This national award recognises our commitment to ensuring equal access to football within our curriculum, particularly for girls, so that every child has the opportunity to take part, develop confidence and enjoy the game.

This award is a testament to the dedication of Mr Simmons, our PE Lead, who has championed inclusive practice, challenged barriers, and worked tirelessly to make football a space where all children feel they belong.

This achievement reflects Hardwick’s commitment to fairness, opportunities and high expectations for every child. It is a moment of huge pride for our pupils, staff, and families and a reminder of what can be achieved when inclusion is intentional and championed with heart.

We were absolutely honoured to receive a visit today from Banbury's MP - Mr Sean Woodcock and local councillor Andrew Crichton. Sean came to announce that the winner of his Christmas card competition this year was none other than a member of our very own Year 6! A massive congratulations. GLF Schools

We’re looking forward to welcoming parents of Reception and Year 1 to the nativity performances today. We’ll be serving warm drinks and a mince pie to raise money for projects in school, they were generously donated by Banbury Tescos. All money raised goes towards projects like our lovely new Voxblocks audiobooks and our new lockers in Years 1-4

The children had a fabulous time today raising money for Katherine House Hospice through our Santa Run! Thank you families, so far we have raised an amazing £353.00 - A special thank you to our wonderful sports leaders who earned a hot chocolate for their efforts leading the running and a massive thank you to Father Christmas who popped by to cheer everyone on and deliver a special gift to each class to say thank you for taking part.

Our Christmas Concerts have got off to a rocking start today with our termly Rock Steady concert. We are so proud to offer Rock Steady lessons at Hardwick, children have the option to learn either drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, keyboard or vocals with our fabulous Rock music teacher Alex. The children today have been showing off their skills in a Christmassy concert 🤘🎸
