The mud isn’t ruining the day. It’s building an immune system. 🌱
Every handful of soil is full of harmless microbes — and meeting them is how a little one’s immune system learns what to react to and what to safely ignore. Less of that exposure is actually linked to more allergies, eczema and asthma… not fewer.
So the filthy hands and soaked knees? Not a mess to manage. An immune system being built. 💚

Kind doesn’t mean soft. 💛 You can say no and still be the safe, loving grown-up your child needs. Children need guidance, not just freedom. .Swipe for how it sounds. development

Mess during play? That’s the learning happening in real time.
But here’s the bit we sometimes skip — tidying up is part of the lesson too.
Packing away teaches sequencing, responsibility, sorting, working together, finishing what you started. It’s not the boring bit at the end. It’s the bit that completes the loop.
So yes — let them pour, squish, build and tip it all out. Then guide them through putting it back.
Play starts it. Packing away completes it. 💚

“I’m boooored.” 🙄
Three words guaranteed to send a parent into a guilt-spiral. Quick, find a craft! An app! A snack! A trip to the soft play!
Stop. Breathe. Sit down.
Boredom isn’t a problem you need to solve. It’s a gift you’re giving them.
Because the brain that’s constantly entertained never learns to entertain itself. Every app, every activity, every “look, watch this!” quietly tells their brain don’t worry, someone else will do the thinking for you.
But a bored child? A bored child turns a cardboard box into a pirate ship. A stick into a sword. A Tuesday afternoon into an adventure.
That’s not nothing. That’s imagination, problem-solving, and self-reliance being wired in right there, on your living room floor.
So next time you hear “I’m booooored” smile. Pour yourself a tea. And let them figure it out.
You’re not their cruise director. You’re their safe harbour. 💛

A spreadsheet would tell you to optimise for salary. A spreadsheet would be wrong.
Early years practitioners earn 30% less than comparable workers (NFER 2026). And yet they report higher life satisfaction, a stronger sense of worthwhileness, and lower anxiety — and those gaps are growing every year.
Economics can’t explain this. Psychology can. Rory Sutherland calls it alchemy: the things that create the most value often look irrational on paper. Early years is high-meaning work trapped in a low-status brand.
90% of brain architecture is built before five. The adults in that room are shaping neural circuits. That’s not a metaphor.
At bambooh® we’re looking for people ready to make the irrational move. No early years experience required — just the willingness to learn why this work matters at the level of brain science. 📍Hook Norton, Bicester and Middleton Cheney.

Most people think nursery work is underpaid and undervalued. They’re half right.
Pay IS low – 30% less than comparable roles (NFER 2026). But early years practitioners report higher life satisfaction, a stronger sense of worthwhileness, and lower anxiety than similar workers. And those gaps are growing.
Why? 90% of brain architecture is built before five. The adults in that room are building neural circuits. The science explains the fulfilment.
At bambooh®, we add neuroscience-informed practice, structured CPD, and real progression across three settings. We’re hiring!

🥾Muddy boots, big climbs, even bigger confidence. 💪
Risky play isn’t dangerous it’s essential. 🌿 When children climb trees 🌳, balance on logs, and explore the outdoors, they build resilience, problem-solving skills, and self-belief. At bambooh®️ Day Nurseries, we champion outdoor learning and child-led play every single day both at setting, and at home. 🏡
