⚽🌍 World Cup Week has kicked off at LMC Childminding! 🌍⚽

We’re all set for tomorrow’s first England match! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🦁

Our setting has been transformed to celebrate the FIFA World Cup, with flags from countries all around the world proudly displayed across our play spaces. Throughout the week the children have been learning that football brings people together, no matter where they’re from.

This week we’ve been:
🌎 Learning about countries taking part in the World Cup
🍽️ Trying foods from around the world
🎨 Creating our own England flags
⚽ Exploring football through small world and imaginative play
📊 Following the tournament with our World Cup wall chart
👕 Designing our own football shirts tomorrow before kick-off!

At LMC Childminding we love using children’s interests to inspire meaningful learning. The World Cup gives us so many opportunities to explore geography, cultures, creativity, communication, teamwork and belonging—all through play.

💛 Staff Appreciation Post 💛

This week has been one of those weeks where there simply haven't seemed to be enough hours in the day!

With a member of staff absent, a busy setting and the added excitement of welcoming Kian for his work experience placement, our team have once again shown exactly why they are so special.

Thank you to Claire and Bobbie for stepping up, covering extra hours, supporting one another and as always, going above and beyond to ensure the children continue to receive the very best care and experiences every single day.

A special mention must also go to the lovely surprise they organised for Kian. They involved the children in making him a beautiful card and kindly bought him some thoughtful treats to thank him for all of his hard work this week. It was such a lovely gesture and perfectly reflects the kindness and generosity that our team show every day.

Running a busy childminding setting takes teamwork, dedication and a huge amount of heart, and I am incredibly grateful to work alongside such a caring and supportive group of people.

Thank you all – I couldn't do it without you. 💕

☀️ End of Term Fun at LMC Childminding! ☀️

As we head into our final few weeks together, we have some exciting events planned for the children to celebrate a fantastic year of learning, friendships and achievements.

🏃 Thursday 2nd July – Sports Day
A fun-filled morning of races, games and team challenges.

🎓 Thursday 9th July – Graduation Party
A special celebration for our school leavers as we recognise how much they have grown and prepare for their next adventure.

💦 Thursday 16th July – Water Day
Our last day of term will be packed with water play and summer fun! Please send your child with their swimming costume and a towel.

☀️ Throughout the summer weeks, please remember to bring:
👒 A sun hat
🧴 Sun cream (applied before arrival where possible)

We are looking forward to making lots of wonderful memories together as we celebrate the end of another amazing year at LMC Childminding. ❤️

We have a new member of the team this week! 🤭🩵

Childminding Week feels like the perfect time to share this. 💜

Last week, we had a little knock at the door and in came two past children together, now both happily settled in year one of school. They were so confident, so full of joy, and absolutely desperate to come back inside “Claire’s house” and retell all the stories from when they were little. (Even asked to stay for a nap) 😂

It was honestly so lovely to have them back — especially when I had to carry them both out the door because they didn’t want to leave! 🥹

Then on Saturday, we went for a meal and bumped into one of my very first babies, now on her second shift at her first job. I got to give her the biggest squeeze and listen to her tell me all about completing her mock A-levels and how sixth form is going.

This statement is so true. Childminders often become part of family life for years and years. Whether it’s 3 years later or 12 years plus, it is an absolute honour and privilege to still be remembered, still be welcomed, and still be part of so many families’ stories.

I am so grateful. 💜

Do you have a passion for early years, a commitment to improving outcomes for children, and experience supporting settings or childminders? If so, we’d love you to join our Stronger Practice Hub!

We’re recruiting for two roles:
- Group-Based Adviser – 14 days per term, £500/day
- Childminder Adviser – 6 days per term, £400/day

In these roles, you’ll:
- Deliver 1:1 coaching support to early years settings
- Work with settings identified as needing improvement
- Support provision for SEND, EAL & disadvantaged children
- Build strong relationships with leaders and practitioners
- Use evidence-informed approaches (EYFS & EEF)
- Create clear, sustainable action plans for improvement

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team working to strengthen early years practice across our region.

We are back for summer term and what a few days it’s been!

We have welcomed two new starters and it’s been a pleasure to watch them come in and be so settled!

We also have had a very exciting day with our hatching eggs! We welcomed our first chick to LMC today Mr Nugget himself! We are all absolutely besotted and can’t wait to welcome the others perhaps as early as tomorrow.
