What you should know about the Creative Industries Production Technician……

There are two different pathways you can go down when you enrol onto this apprenticeship with us. Based on the job that you are applying for, you will either be trained as a Live Events Technician or a Creative Venue Technician. Though they seem similar here is how they are different.

Creative Venue Technician: Provide tech support for the construction, rehearsal, presentation and removal of performances. Becoming competent in lighting, audio, video and building services across a variety of creative venues, such as theatres, art centres and broadcast studios.

Live Events Technician: As part of a team you will turn a space into a functioning event environment, such as a concert or a festival. You will be responsible for setting, controlling, servicing, repairing and storing tech equipment within a short time frame.

There are many different breathing techniques that can help calm your system, but have you heard of the box breath?

This consists of a rhythm in the shape of a box. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds and hold for 4 seconds. Repeat this as many times as feels necessary. This is good to practice daily, it indicates to your brain that it is safe to be calm.
