💙 Every day at NICE, we see incredible things happen.

A child mastering a new skill.
An adult achieving a goal they never thought possible.
A family finding support, encouragement and hope.

These moments may seem small to some, but to the people we support, they can be life-changing.

For 40 years, NICE has been helping people discover what is possible. As we continue our Urgent Appeal, we're asking our wonderful community to help us continue this work.

If NICE has ever inspired you, supported someone you know, or if you simply believe everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their potential, please consider making a donation.

Together, we can help create many more moments of progress, achievement and independence.

🌟"I’ve signed up to take part in the NICE abseil fundraiser because the charity means a great deal to me both personally and professionally. As a Trustee, I see first-hand the incredible impact NICE has on the children and families it supports, and that commitment is something I’m proud to champion.

On a personal level, my son attended NICE, so I know how life changing the charity's work can be. I completed the abseil a couple of years ago and genuinely loved the experience, so it feels right to take on the challenge again."🌟

NICE trustee and parent Peter shares his story and why he has signed up for the NICE Heights abseil again this year! ❤️ On the 4th of July we will be cheering on Peter and our other brave fundraisers as they scale down No. 3 Brindleyplace 🏙️

🚨 We need your help. Right now.

For 40 years, NICE has helped children and adults with movement disorders achieve things many once thought impossible.

Today, we are facing one of the biggest financial challenges in our history.

We launched an urgent appeal to raise £60,000 by the end of July to help safeguard our vital services. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we have already raised £15,600 – but we still have £44,400 to go.

The reality is that more families than ever are turning to NICE for support, while rising costs and increasing financial pressures are making it harder than ever for charities like ours to continue delivering essential services.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help ensure that children, adults and families can continue to access the life-changing support they rely on.

❤️ If you can donate, thank you.
❤️ If you can't donate, please share this post and help us reach more people.

Together, we can continue changing lives.

Teamwork, focus, coordination… and a lot of fun! 🎾✨

In our Parkinson’s sessions, activities like this help participants work on balance, reaction time, concentration, and communication in an engaging and supportive way.

At NICE, we believe rehabilitation should be motivating, social, and enjoyable — helping people build confidence while working towards greater independence. 💛

🎉There's no party like a NICE party!🪅

Saturday was our NICE Summer Fayre, and the sun was shining ☀️ as were our wonderful families! We had all the classics: Hook a Duck, Coconut Shy, three tombolas, a raffle and more. Even our Barbies got involved - though we think Ken might have been glad to leave Barbie Beach! ⛱️

The extra special guests of the day were and , who made the Fayre even more wonderful! A huge thank you to both teams, it was fantastic to see the children making friends with the alpacas 🦙 outside and getting up on the dance floor 🪩inside.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who made the day possible, including the incredible home-grown donations from Margaret on the plant stall.🪴 We hope everyone had a brilliant time, and we'll see you all for more fun in the sun next year! 🌞

💙 Carers Week | 8–14 June 💙

This Carers Week, we want to recognise carers like Jan, whose love, resilience and quiet determination support their loved ones every single day.

Jan cares for her husband Ray, who lives with Parkinson’s and dementia. After his diagnosis, life changed dramatically. Activities they once loved, like dancing and socialising, slowly fell away, and Jan found herself supporting Ray through loss of confidence, uncertainty and daily challenges — while continuing to “just get on with life”, as so many carers do.

Finding NICE – Centre for Movement Disorders was a turning point for Jan. She saw practical changes at home almost immediately — from the way Ray moved, to how he got in and out of bed — but just as importantly, she found reassurance, understanding and support for herself.

For Jan, NICE isn’t only about therapy for Ray. It’s a place where carers can pause, talk, laugh over a coffee, and feel understood by others who truly know the journey. Those moments of connection give her the strength to carry on caring for the rest of the week.

Caring can be exhausting, emotional and isolating — but carers should never feel invisible.

To Jan, and to every carer supporting a loved one: thank you. Your role matters more than words can say. 💙
