🌟 Supporting Smooth Transitions to School 🌟
Today, the Cotton Tails team proudly attended the Birmingham Early Years Network Transition Event.
These events give our key workers a valuable chance to meet Reception teachers from across Birmingham and celebrate what makes each child so special. 💛
By sharing children’s personalities, interests, strengths, achievements, and learning journeys, we help schools understand how they learn best and support a smooth start to Reception.
While we’re not quite ready to let our school leavers go, we’re excited to share that Maya and Marley and the New Friend, a new book by Laura Henry-Allain MBE, has launched as Birmingham’s shared transition book to support children moving into Reception. More information on this exciting resource is coming soon.
We are incredibly proud of all our school leavers and can’t wait to see them continue to grow, thrive, and shine in their new schools. ⭐

💤 Safe Sleep Matters at Cotton Tails Nurseries 💛
At Cotton Tails, the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is always our top priority. We want to keep all parents informed about our updated safe sleep procedures, which are in line with the latest guidance from the Department for Education and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
✨ What does this mean for your child?
We follow clear, evidence-based practices to ensure babies sleep as safely as possible:
• Babies are always placed on their backs to sleep
• Clear cots – no pillows, duvets, or soft toys
• Use of firm, flat mattresses
• Regular sleep checks and monitoring
• Maintaining a comfortable room temperature
💡 Why is this so important?
Following safe sleep guidance significantly reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). These simple steps help us create the safest possible sleep environment for your little ones.
We understand that every family has their own routines at home, but within our nursery setting, we must follow national safeguarding guidance to protect all children in our care.
For more information, you can read the official guidance here:
You can also visit trusted advice from the NHS on safe sleep and baby wellbeing.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s sleep routine, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of our team 💬
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our children safe 💤💛

🌟 Employee of the Term – Cotton Tails Hagley 🌟
A huge congratulations to Rosie, our Employee of the Term! 👏💛
Rosie has been part of the Cotton Tails family since November 2024, and it’s been wonderful to see how much she has grown in confidence—especially since joining the baby room. She has built such lovely, nurturing relationships with the children, and parents consistently find her warm, approachable, and easy to talk to.
Rosie is currently working towards her Level 3 qualification and has already begun taking on additional responsibilities, including supporting with new parent inductions. Her dedication, positivity, and willingness to step up make her a truly valued member of the team.
We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved so far, Rosie—keep shining! ✨💫

🌟 Employee of the Term Celebration 🌟
We are so proud to celebrate our wonderful Stacey as our Employee of the Term at Cotton Tails Too Nursery at Rubery 💛
Stacey has been a valued member of the Cotton Tails family since October 2018, and her dedication truly shines every single day. Known by us all as the kindest heart in the baby room, Stacey goes above and beyond to care for our little ones and keeps parents reassured with her thoughtful updates about their child’s day.
Her commitment to the nursery and the children is truly commendable — even braving the cold and getting up exceptionally early to walk in and ensure the doors are open and ready for the day, even in the snow ❄️
Stacey, thank you for everything you do. Your warmth, reliability, and genuine care make such a difference to our nursery community. We are incredibly lucky to have you! 🌈
