A phenomenal evening at Shenley Academy with our first ever SEND event: "Together We Belong". A huge thank you to all of our staff who came together to deliver such an excellent array of activities to reassure our SEND parents that we do care deeply about ALL of our students.

Dear Parents and Carers,
With very warm weather forecast for this week, please see below how we will be keeping the students comfortable and safe at school and how you can help.
Uniform Flexibility
While our normal school uniform is suitable for warm weather, students may wear their PE kit if they feel this will be more comfortable. Please ensure that students wear the appropriate Shenley PE Kit and not cycling shorts. If this happens, we will insist on parents bringing the correct shorts whilst students are in Reflection.
Water Bottles
Please ensure your child brings a water bottle (or two) to school each day. The students will be able to fill up their bottles throughout the day to stay well hydrated. Bottles must be filled during break times only to prevent disruption to learning.
Keeping Cool in School
We will be doing everything we can to maintain comfortable temperatures in classrooms - lowered blinds, open windows etc.
Thank you for your support in keeping our students safe and comfortable during the warm weather.

Leavers' celebration 2026! I couldn't be more proud of our departing Year 11 cohort. Their resilience and tenacity, despite the many changes they had to adapt to, has inspired all of us! We will miss them...

⚽🦁 Today, our students and staff showed their support for the Three Lions by coming to school proudly wearing their football shirts to celebrate England's winning start to the World Cup and the beginning of this truly global event.
It was fantastic to see so many students embracing the spirit of the tournament and sharing their enthusiasm for football.
Even better, the day also helped raise money for a wonderful cause. All donations collected will be going to St Gabriel’s Church and Community Centre, supporting the valuable work they do within our local community.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and contributed. Come on, England! 🏆⚽

To celebrate Thank a Teacher Day, students across the school have been spending time writing personal and heartfelt messages expressing their gratitude to the staff who make Shenley such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
These messages are a reminder of the positive impact that teachers and staff have on students every day. The encouragement, dedication, kindness, and support shown throughout the year do not go unnoticed, and our students have been eager to share just how much they are appreciated.
Thank you to all of our incredible staff for everything you do to inspire, support, and make a difference in the lives of our young people. 💙

A reminder about our "Wear it Football Top" Day tomorrow (Thursday). For a donation of £1, students are allowed to wear their PE kit with a football top to replace their Shenley polo shirt. Payments to be made on parent pay. If students wish to opt out, that is absolutely fine. They can wear their PE kit or full school uniform with shoes.

Today, on Thank a Teacher Day, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to every member of staff at Shenley.
Teaching is so much more than delivering lessons. It is the encouragement given when confidence is low, the extra time spent supporting students, the care shown every day, and the unwavering belief that every young person can succeed.
Our teachers and staff work tirelessly behind the scenes and in the classroom to help students grow, achieve, and become the very best versions of themselves. They celebrate successes, provide guidance through challenges, and make a lasting impact that extends far beyond the school gates.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated, compassionate, and inspiring staff body. Their commitment to our students and our school community does not go unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful for all that they do.
To all of our amazing teachers and support staff – thank you for your patience, kindness, passion, and dedication. The difference you make each day is immeasurable, and the positive impact you have on the lives of our students will be felt for years to come.
Happy Thank a Teacher Day. 💙

Table Top and Modelling Club 🛡️⚔️
Our KS3 students have been getting creative in Table Top and Modelling Club, building miniature Viking warriors and bringing history to life!
Using their models, students have been re-enacting key 11th-century battles, helping them deepen their understanding of early medieval society. They’ve explored Viking weaponry, military tactics, and how invasions shaped new territories.
This exciting hands-on learning links to their studies of the Anglo-Saxons, the Norman Conquest, and early migration to the British Isles in the Year 7 history curriculum.
Fantastic work from all involved! 👏
