Today, our A Level Physics students sat their third and final exam paper.
Itâs hard to believe how quickly this year has gone, and just how much they have achieved through their hard work and determination.
It has been a real privilege to teach such motivated and inspiring young people. Their effort, resilience, and curiosity have made this year a real pleasure, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished.
A huge thank you to all our parents for their support throughout the year and congratulations on raising such amazing students. You should be very proud!
We wish our students every success for the future. They have so much to be proud of, and so much to look forward to.

Anyone who knows Mr Yafai knows he loves Teaching and Learning and eats, sleeps and breathes Physics! đ
So you can only imagine his excitement at combining all of the above with the launch of the PYL Physics Academy this September!!
The Physics Academy will be enrolling KS4 students studying AQA or Edexcel GCSE Physics, as well as KS5 students studying AQA A Level Physics.
The Physics programme has been carefully designed to ensure full curriculum coverage while embedding effective learning strategies throughout.
Before our Physics Academy launches in September, we will be hosting a taster session on Sunday 28th June for students moving into KS4 or KS5 next year, giving them the opportunity to experience what the Physics Academy will be like.
KS4 Physics Academy - 28th June 12:45â13:45
KS5 Physics Academy - 28th June 14:00â15:00
If you would like to reserve a place for this session, please send us a DM or email [email protected].
Spaces are limited to 6 students per group. If youâd like to find out more, feel free to get in touch - weâre always happy to chat.

đ§Şđ§ŹMany of our students are preparing for their first science exam tomorrow: Biology Paper 1. đąđŚ
We have compiled a revision resource to help support their revision tonight. It is aimed at AQA Biology Paper 1 and is relevant to both Combined and Triple Science students.
Some of the topics covered include:
⢠Microscopes and magnification
⢠Diffusion, active transport, and osmosis
⢠Tests for carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins
⢠Enzymes
⢠Photosynthesis
⢠The digestive system
⢠Pathogens
⢠Stem cells
⢠Cell division
The resource should take approximately 2 hours to complete, and mark schemes are included at the end of the document so students can check their answers and track their progress.
We hope this helps with tonightâs revision, and we wish all students the best of luck in their exam tomorrow!

We fully intended to continue with our revision series but then⌠life and everything else got in the way and before we knew it, two months had passed without us posting. In fact, weâve got a whole load of excuses ready to go, ranging from very legitimate to slightly questionable, but weâll spare you the list.
For many students with exams very quickly approaching, youâll be feeling the same way. Feeling like you could and should have done more. Irrespective of how much preparation youâve done, youâll always feel like you could have done just that little bit extra.
However, thereâs no point looking back now and thereâs still time to impact your learning and grade. At this stage, our advice is to keep things simple. Past papers. It sounds simple, clichĂŠ almost, overhyped, overstatedâŚbut it really isnât. Itâs the quickest and most effective way to impact your grade, even if you feel like youâve still got loads to learn. Here are some simple steps you can follow:
1. Attempt
Complete the paper under timed and exam conditions. No notes, no Google, no ChatGPT etc.
2. Mark
Mark it straight away using the mark scheme. Be as honest and as accurate as you can be. If in doubt, donât give the mark.
3. Analyse
Work out why you lost marks. Knowledge? Technique? Misreading? Poor application? Calculation error? Not demonstrating all your assessment objectives?
4. Fix
Go back and relearn what you got wrong. Find similar questions and attempt them.
5. Re-do
Come back a few days later and redo the same questions from memory.
Parents - feel free to reach out if you need help locating exam papers/mark schemes!

This Easter, we delivered our first Intensive GCSE Physics Masterclasses - and we couldnât have asked for a better two weeks.
Each morning, students joined us for focused 75 minute sessions covering both GCSE Physics Paper 1 and Paper 2, building their understanding, confidence, and exam technique.
The level of engagement was outstanding. Students demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, approached challenging concepts with confidence, and showed a genuine determination to improve.
What stood out most was their commitment - from those who gave up time from their holidays (even tuning in from sunny Spain), to those who attended every morning, and those who pushed themselves to ask questions, even when they found topics difficult.
Itâs this mindset that leads to real progress - and itâs exactly what we aim to build in every session.
More sessions coming soon!
P.S. If your child can explain the joke, we might actually be onto somethingâŚ
