It has been a very hot week 🥵🥵🥵🥵
The children have all coped so well. We have found lots of ways to keep cool in this weather;
Morning time in the pool, splashing, sliding, pouring the water, practising our kicking legs and catching balls as we slide down the slide.
Regular drink breaks allday!
Ice poles in the afternoons!
Fans- lots of fans!
Quiet board games, using our brains in a carm and gentle way. The children loved playing the shopping list game, they can remember where their cards are and place them in their basket correctly.
We have also been celebrating the World Cup and cheering on England 🏴 ⚽️ 🥅
We have decorated a England flag using a variety of red pencils/pens and used England stickers too.
We have been choosing our favourite colours to decorate our own football kits too. Some great patterns and designs.
Looking forward to a slightly cooler week next week 😅 Have a great weekend 😀

Weve had a very busy week here at Kim's house.
Monday we visited the local library for song time. The children eniiyed getting involved and using the instrumnets when singing. Very good for their social skills being around others, learning new words/how to say words correctly and enjoying listening to and joining in with rhymes.
We have been making fathers Day/Grandads Day cards this week. We've created our own little monsters. We hope the Daddies and Grandads like them 🥰
Outside we have been focusing on our coordination skills by kicking and catching the ball. We spoke about having a focus and aiming towards it. Our littlest little one learnt to walk dk we have also been practising on more challenging surfaces such as the grass. Amazing achievement 👏
Lots of focus on pronunciation and learning new words, we use of flash cards as well as singing and reading books daily. Flash cards help focus on a single words at a time.
Its very hot next week.... please bring plenty of clothes as we will have lots of water play and a little splash pool to dip our feet Into too to keep cool 😀
Have a fab weekend, were off to little legs festival tomorrow may see some of you there 👋 ☀️☀️

This week at Kim's House we have been exploring the beach indoors.
We spoke about different times weve been to the beach, holidays weve been on and pictures we have seen.
The children got to make their very own beach picture using paints. We looked at where the water was in the picture and the sand and used the coloured paint accordingly.
In our sensory tray we made our own sensory beach using kinetic sand, tissue paper and shells. The children loved scooping up the sand to mould into different shapes, burying the shells and sharing it with our friends.
At playgroup this week we got to make lots of noises using the instruments. We spoke about the shakers sounding like the sea and the bells sounding like the wind blowing past.
At the library this week we joined in with song time, listening and learning new words. Turn taking with the instruments and listening beautifully to the weekly story.
We even enjoyed a trip to the park afterwards usong our physical skills on the equipment.
Really impressed with the children's road safety skills, walking skills and listening skills when out and about. Makes me very proud 🥰🥰

Last week before half term...
We have been super busy this week.
On Monday we visited the library. We got to share stories with our friends. We listened beautifully to the group story too, joining in when questions were asked. We also joined in with song time doing the actions and using the instruments. 📖
On Tuesday we had a treat day and went to soft play. The children used the physical skills to climb, jump and slide in the soft play area. We then had our picnic and headed into a forest to explore.
On Wednesday we decorated a butterfly using different pens and bingo dabbers. The children made lots of marks and patterns. We spoke about where a butterfly comes from and if we have ever seen one. 🦋
Today we ventured out to our local playgroup. We loved playing alongside our friends and the other children. Lots of turn taking and communicating with others. We joined in with shape sorting and shape matching. The children put 2 shapes together to make another. 🔵 🟨

This week we have had alot of focus on bugs. We spoke about the different types of bugs we see outside and matched them to the bug chart.
The children enjoyed using the magnifying glasses to see the bugs up close. We found lots of different bugs under the pots.... even a big spider 🕷
We used the paint to make ladybirds using our fingers. The children enjoyed creating lots of ladybirds and of course getting very messy.
We have read about different bugs and learnt some new facts. We got to count how many legs each bug/insect had. We then compared this to our bodies.
The children got involved with song and story time at the library this week. They sung beautifully and loved using the instruments too. We also went of a bear hunt around the library too and ticked each one off of our checklist.
At playgroup this week the children shared the dinosaurs and roared around the hall. The children have been teaching me the dinosaur names. 🦕 They also told me which ones eat meat or plants.
We have been using our fine motor skills to build and create different shapes using the flower connectors. 🌼 I heard lots of "I cant do it" but with lots of encouragement of course the could!
As always please get in touch for spaces starting September 2027! Its never too early! 🥰

A shorter week for us due to the B/H.
Tuesday was a girls day so my little one Rosie loved sharing her girly toys 💕
Lots of communicating, role play and sharing together ❤️ They also loved a little trip to the park too. We climbed, jumped and made ourselves smaller to get through the tunnel.
Wednesday we have been learning about pirates. We spoke about what they hunt for and we made our own treasure chest using a variety of colours. We made jewels, coins and gold. We hid the jewels in the sand and had to find them and match them to the correct colour on the grid.
Today we ventured out to playgroup when we loved exploring all the different toys. We shared these with others and was very aware of others around us in a bigger environment 😀 all skills we need to learn when moving onto school.

What an amazing week we have had at Kim's House!
A library visit on Monday; the children joined in beautifully with the singing and actions. We also made monuments with the building blocks.
Very safe walking to and from the library with a lovely visit to a local park. 😀
We have been decorating St George's Flags this week (for last week) using stickers for the flag and paint sticks. We spoke about England being the country we live in and looked on the globe too.
We have been very sporty this week. We have practised our hitting, throwing, kicking and catching skills when using a variety of different resources. The children's favourite was our new rocket! We have also been encouraging lots of walking for our non walkers too, using toys of interest such as a ball as a focus. So proud of our little R.
The weather has been beautiful so we have taken song time outside this week. 😍 Please remember sun hats and sun cream and clothes for all weathers 😅
The children have been enjoying the orchard board games this week's. Focusing on memory skills, turn taking, shapes and colours. I repeat the words over of each card I pick up to help listen to pronunciation to help learn how some words are pronounced.
A lovely end to the week at playgroup, sharing with others, socialising in bigger groups and building confidence.
We are on the look out for play mobil toys as the children love role play and characters. If anyone is rehoming any please let me know xx
