This week the children and the staff have been working on a display for our local church’s flower festival 🌸 The theme is ‘Biblical Characters’ and our display is called ‘Noah and the Ark’. All of the children have enjoyed getting involved in this project. From making the boat, to creating the animals and arranging the flowers. All of our plants are named after different animals too, including zebra grass and the birds of paradise flower. The children were very interested to explore all of the different plants. The children and the staff have all worked really hard on this project 💙 If anyone wants to see our display, as well as all of the other lovely arrangements, the flower festival is on all weekend at St Peter and St Paul Black Notley 🌼💐

Also thank you to Miss Sue and to Bernard Chapman Florist Braintree for helping us with finding all of our wonderful flowers and plants 💙

⭐️ We have an exciting opportunity! We are looking for a baby room leader to join our fabulous team! ⭐️

We offer a warm and supportive environment where you can grow and learn about our unique Montessori curriculum and classroom. At The Colourwheel, we provide care to babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

As a baby room leader, you will have the responsibility of managing the baby room to a high standard. As well as providing a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment, you will be responsible for planning daily activities, completing observations and working with the children’s key workers to complete tracking and assessments. As a baby room leader, you will build strong, nurturing relationships with the children and support them with their learning and development.

Please note, with this role:
⭐️ It is a full time position at 40 hours per week.
⭐️ A UK recognised level 3 childcare qualification is essential.
⭐️ The candidate must have experience of working in a nursery.
⭐️ Have an excellent knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and babies development.
⭐️ As we are a Montessori nursery, the candidate must be willing to undertake Montessori training.
⭐️ We are open all year from 7:30am-6:00pm.
⭐️ Pay salary is dependent upon age, experience and qualifications.

📚SCHOOL STARTER MEETS 2026📚

We can’t believe another year has gone and lots of our lovely little friends are starting the next chapter of their life’s. We really hope you got the school you’d been hoping for!

Over the past 11 years we have been setting up meets here at MP to provide a fun and friendly environment for those starting school this September to come along and have a play.
We reserve a large area for you all to give you the opportunity to meet other parents/carers and a chance for the kids to have a play with their new friends.

Please help us by tagging anyone who’s little one is starting school this year!

As always a MASSIVE thank you to the schools who really do support these sessions each year by spreading the word or even attending it’s so so lovely to see!

The children have been using the magnifying glasses to explore the bark and moss. We had lots of lovely discussions around this activity and the children found it really interesting to explore these materials in finer detail 💙
