Fun fact (with a touch of Science!)

You actually don't read every letter!

Instead of processing each letter, your brain recognises whole word shapes and patterns. That's why you can still read sentences with jumbled letters - as long as the first and last letters are correct!

Try this:

*Phonics Support*
Did you know that sounding out words isn't enough on it's own?
Many children can read individual sounds but struggle to BLEND them into full words smoothly.
For example;
c-a-t = "c...a...t..." (slow)
vs
"cat" (blended smoothly)
This is a key step in building confident reading.
If your child is getting stuck at this stage, a little targeted support can make a big difference 😀
